AC Hotel Los Vascos

Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel is not located close to the historical center, rather closer to the university area, however there are metro stations close with convenient connections. Also, there are some restaurants for a quick meal very close to the hotel.

Good position, quite, staff are friendly and gentle. Clean it need some refurbishment as rooms and corridors look in need of. Breakfast was a real bad experience. Poor with little variety and quality overall not in line with the hotel’s characteristics.

After zero sleep on JFK to Madrid flight, I stopped by AC Hotel Los Vacos where my husband was checking out at noon. I arrived a the hotel around 8:45 AM, and a front desk staff kindly led me to the cafe area where my husband was having breakfast. My husband asked me if I wanted to get breakfast, but I said no because I was so exhausted and had no appetite. There was coffee & tea and some juice in a separate section from the cafe. I thought It was for the hotel guest. When I was pouring myself a tea and OJ, a wait staff stood behind me and used a very stern tone, "What's your room number", I did not know my husband's room number, and I said, "could you ask my husband?" She got a room number from my husband, and nothing was explained.  We went to his room, and I passed out for 2 hours. Just before noon, we went to the front desk to check out and asked about an extra 5 euros charge. He said my husband paid for his room and breakfast, but the cafe staff charged him 5 euros for the tea I had in the paper cup. I said, "It's okay to charge for the drink, but I would have liked it to be explained instead of treated like a thrive and just charged 5 euros. The front staff said, "Okay, taking out 5 euros charge, but the wait staff doesn't speak English, and if the person doesn't speak a  language, the communication can be crude." "Do you speak Spanish?" I said, "poco" and he said, "See, 'poco' is not the way how we reply."  There you have it. If you like your hotel staff to treat you like a thief and criticize your poor Spanish, this is a hotel for you. I was looking forward to my first overseas trip after the pandemic; what a disappointing start to my experience in Spain. What a welcome... 

Nice hotel off a main road. Bathrooms come with bidet and tub--nice touches. Internet is spotty. No iron and board in room. You need to request it at front desk and leave outside room after use. Breakfast not worth the expense. Go out and grab a quick meal on the main road. Feels like Hilton Garden Inn. decent but nothing to write home about. Biggest thing I did NOT like about this hotel--only ONE outlet to use for all devices. No USB ports at all.

Where do I begin.. day guy is nice, smiling and welcoming. Evening people keep their heads down when u come in the front door. No 'hello' or any interaction. Rooms are HOT, AC is not good at all. I called and called, no empathy or corrective action. Fitness center consists of a 10' hallway with elliptical that ISN'T PLUGGED IN! Come on! Just.. no. Tiny rooms, couple blocks from the metro but very very basic.

We arreived at this hotel having just left another nearby hotel that purported to be 4-star at check-in, because it did not match its description on ***********.. Conchi, our main contact at the AC Hotel Los Vascos, was a delight and could not have been more helpful at check-in and throughout our 2 day stay. The rooms are relatively small but clean and comfortable. There is a "market place" on the ground floor which allows you to purchase water and soft drinks, snacks and salads. The Bar is inviting and comfortable (great Gin & Tonics) and you can also sit outside on the patio. The restaurant, for dinner and breakfast, is well furnished, the food excellent and the menu varied. Around the hotel you have a pub, a number of cafes and a large supermarket. The metro is close by. An excellent highly recommended hotel. We will definitely stay here again during our frequent visits to Madrid.

Simple clean hotel. Small rooms. OK buffet breakfast. In University district, residential area with grocery store next door and pharmacies, bars and laundromats nearby. Other AC hotels (e.g.Cuzco) are at a higher level of service for your Marriott points.
