"Since the hotel I was staying at was full, I booked this hotel for my daughter because it was only a few minutes away from our hotel. The only thing I have to complain about is that the window, when tilted, was tilted towards you because the hinges were broken. The train station is about a 10-minute walk. There are also many restaurants and shops, such as a Rewe supermarket, nearby. Mainz city center is about 15 minutes away. So, all in all, within walking distance."

"This hotel proved very convenient being close to the station and a short walk to the marketplace and old town. Our room was well appointed with a good bathroom, - with nice amenities. The little ‘kitchen’ had a sink, a kettle and coffeemaker plus a microwave and stove. We had a terrace with a view to the cathedral, where we sat with a beer and some sun. The staff were very friendly . The breakfast was minimal but satisfactory. Overall a very good stay."

"If we start from the location, the convenience for those traveling by train or in any case having to take the train to the airport or elsewhere should be immediately underlined: the hotel is 50 meters from the station. Nonetheless, it doesn't seem noisy, there is no traffic on that street. The environment can be improved: the reception is very old, and upon arrival it didn't give me the impression of cleanliness: an ugly, slightly dirty floor. Let's say that the appearance is not very well looked after in general: around 1pm, during room cleaning time, the corridor was cluttered with used sheets and bottles and other things, not a good way to give a good impression. Let's get to more substantial things. The room is clean, has an armchair and desk, TV; no mini-bar, just a free bottle of water. Wi-Fi is present but not very fast. There is no safe. Wardrobe with two doors, however: only two hangers, plastic and barely functional. What's the point of a wardrobe without hangers? Bathroom with shower, hairdryer, no courtesy set. Be careful if you have heavy luggage or walking problems: ask not to have rooms on the fifth floor, because the elevator only reaches the fourth. The breakfast buffet has the usual sweet/savory offering; however lacking on the sweet side, there are no croissants or cakes or similar, only yogurt, muessli, corn fakes. Finally, a significant oversight should be mentioned: at the reception a room number different from the one assigned was given, with the result that upon returning to the hotel I was given a key that was not for my room, with the risk that the reverse with another guest. It's an oversight, it won't happen again, but if in doubt, bring your key with you. Having said all this, the hotel is still a possible choice. Perhaps the price needs to be adjusted down a bit."

Osteiner Hof by the Apartment Suite

"I have just returned from the Osteiner Hof in Mainz where I stayed for a week in the Bremen apartment with my wife. Whilst the location was excellent the apartment was very small. As you come in the door there is a small toilet and wash basin immediately to the right and a 4 inch step up to the rest of the apartment which you had to be aware of. My wife did manage to trip on one occasion. There is a Chaise Longue stuck in an alcove which is the only place to sit comfortably alone or side by side if you have a partner. No arm chairs. The kitchen is reasonably fitted out and there is a high table with 3 high bar stools which if you are small or elderly can be a problem. Leading off the kitchen is a small shower room which you have to manoeuvre into a corner to close the door. The shower is good though. The bedroom is a reasonable size and has a wardrobe. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were large square things which were impossible to sleep on, for us anyway. The windows were a good 7 feet up so no view. For almost a thousand pounds a bit pricey and more suited for a weekend rather than a week. "
