Camp Sabali & Safaris

We want to thank Leon and he's amazing team for an unforgetable stay in may 2025. Tents were unique located and the aesthetics of the rooms was very nice and every small detail has been thought of. Food was amazing as well, everything was homemade.

An excellent stay. Leon is an outstanding host with an eye for detail and high standards for his wonderful team. The accommodation felt beautifully secluded with top notch linen and fabulously comfortable bed. The outdoor shower is a must (although I wasn't brave enough to have one at night time so enjoyed the interior version instead). We had two great drives during my short stay and I really appreciated seeing all the main animals including a very chilled pride of lions, Lucy the leopard and the painted dogs, but also having so many birds and plants pointed out to us. Best of all was Mary's cooking - it was all delicious and so refreshing to have someone who understands vegetarian meals and is so accomplished. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a lodge with the personal touch.

Zambia is certainly worth a trip. And i consider especially the South Luangwa a pearl amongst the Parks in southern africa. Our last visit at Camp Sabali was an outstanding experience and so we became returning guests once more. After an epic safari covering half of Africa we had to „commence our descent“ back home to South Africa and Namibia. After some refreshing and very comfortable days at this most decent camp and park we had to wave good by heading towards Zimbabwe. It turned out that we definitely left the comfort zone…

This was our second visit to Lodge Sabali and proved even more exceptional to your visit last year. Leon and his team made our visit uniquely memorable adding small touches to our stay. Arranging a sunset dinner and drinks on the banks of the Luangwa River was certainly the highlight.

We (my wife and I) found this gem in the off-season period of March when most lodges are still shut. The clinching point for our choice was that on the Sabali website, Leon and his team conveyed a substantial appreciation of the diverse birdlife that was accessible in the park (and actually around the Sabali Lodge itself). Both our guides (Akim and Moses) were exemplary and Akim had a profound knowledge of the birds and plants we encountered. Leon was extremely generous with his time with us and also a very knowledgeable birder. We could not have wished for a more attentive and polite host. I personally learnt a lot from both him and Akim and was struck with how environmentally attuned the whole team were. Other than rhino we encountered all the usual beasts up close. We were lucky to witness lion and leopard almost every day. We saw Lucy's cubs (leopard) stalking impala and were pretty shocked to be caught in the midst of a baby buffalo kill by the local pride of lions. Sabali's diverse spreads (this was an all-inclusive package) were provided by Mary (the camp cook) and they were all scrumptious with the highlight being the eggs benedict for one of the breakfasts.

I had an incredible experience at Camp Sabali! The food was truly outstanding, with a unique menu crafted by the owner, Leon, who was also a fantastic host. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, making us feel right at home. The camp's setting was breathtakingly beautiful, providing the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and unforgettable stay. Highly recommend Camp Sabali for its exceptional hospitality, delicious cuisine, and stunning surroundings!
