We often come here and was looking forward to seeing the revamp . The Self Check-In is in the new bar area and if it doesn’t work you have to wait at the bar to check in between the tables , chairs and guests with your cases and family , so avoid arriving at meal times and evenings when the bar is busy. The new re vamp has made it look really lovely but it is no longer wheelchair or child friendly. There is very little space for wheelchair users to independently move around the restaurant nor get anything themselves for breakfast , as everything is so high up ! The old restaurant catered for everyone and sadly the new one doesn’t. The forks bend as you use them, the food quality was budget and took far too long to arrive at the table and then needed to be sent back as the eggs were like rubber. The drinks at the bar are astronomical ! 330ml of zero Coca Cola ( a can size ) over £3.00 ! Rooms are still the same but wasn’t pleased that for the whole of our stay the dirty laundry was left right by the lifts all day and night . Check-In awful and it’s far better to walk down the road to restaurants and bars that are more affordable and child and disabled friendly.

Upon booking photos on the website didn’t match the reality of the hotel. The photos show plenty of seating outside to which there is none. Rooms are shown to be modern and updated when in reality the bathroom was covered in rust and shower hardly worked. Restaurant capacity is tiny considering the amount of rooms at the hotel.

Booked Premier Inn as attending a music event at Dreamland. Firstly, location (right next to railway station and just a few minute walk to Dreamland) make it perfect. I made the mistake of doing a Google search which came back with check in starts at 2pm. This was incorrect and even though people were early, we had to wait for 3pm. 2 x check in machines. As our son was tired and bored following a long train journey from Sussex we were made to wait. At 259pm I approached the machine where a staff member opened check in. I went through stage by stage and at the final hurdle the machine failed so I had to wait in another queue by the bar area. Eventually got sorted. We had paid for breakfast and it was only later after speaking with others we found out you had to book a table for breakfast. 8am or 1030am was offered. Shame we weren't asked when we were checking in with a person following the machine failing. We were put in the annex building which I don't think has a lift but only two flights of stairs up with our case. Room ok. Bathroom ok. Air con not great and noisy compared to other hotels. We arrived for breakfast reluctantly at 8am and there was only one other table with people there? Good though getting breakfast and no queues. People asking on the morning to pay for breakfast were refused as I heard '89 people had booked breakfast so they were full' The one thing I would say which does go against what others say on here, was the staff we encountered. Very little customer service. No apologies for machine not working or breakfast timings not being offered. Female Manager had attitude and there were no warm smiles for myself or family at all by anyone. If I paid £50 for a room I guess it wouldn't have bothered me but considering the guests had paid £200 plus per room I think at least a smile and a little customer service would have been expected at least. The bar had run out of draft lager as well I overheard. So would I stay here again? Yes for location but if I could find an Air Bnb or possibly travel in and out of Margate and stay somewhere else next time. Could be great but just average or just below for me. Was a shame as we were looking forward to our stay so much.

Location is good. Other than that it wasn’t great. Room needs refurb, the whole place just felt a bit run down. The new bar / restaurant is like sitting in ikea. Nowhere relaxing to chill with a drink. Staff all looked unhappy and a couple of them were not very friendly, just liked barking rules. Breakfast was lacking some of the usual items. No OJ or apple juice. Coffee machine only served espresso or americano. They run out of certain items which meant a wait. Just not very well organised. I’ve been to many premier inns, this was the worst unfortunately.

First impressions was checking took to long, the self checking didn’t work so everyone was queuing which took a long time. Staff are friendly and helpful the room was lovely clean and comfortable, we pre paid for breakfast and when was came down for it they had hardly any left but we had been offered a refund so not to bad. I would stay here again
