We LOVED it at Maison Mazille. We wanted somewhere to stay for a couple of nights to break up the journey travelling from the UK to the Languedoc and choose Maison Mazille based upon some very good reviews - we weren't disappointed. The property has been renovated over the past few years to a very high standard with some lovely furniture (most of the work completed by Christopher himself). We booked the Mirror room which has large bed, sofa and a large bathroom with fab shower. There is also a small outdoor patio area with a couple of chairs. In the warm weather you can have breakfast outside which was a mix of home made yogurts as well as meats, cheeses, bread and croissants. It was a relaxing way to start the day sat in the morning sunshine looking at the countryside and horses in the next field.....missing it already. Christopher was a wonderful host, happy to recommend local restaurants (we very much enjoyed Bistro La Nation in Cluny and especially L'Embellie which is a 10min walk from the property in Saint Cecile). During our stay there were three couples staying there all with a passion for wine and it transpires that Christopher was a wine importer in a previous life - this resulted in a 'small' wine tasting one afternoon for the 6 of us ...... thirteen wines later we were all late getting to our dinner reservations but had a fantastic afternoon. The property has a lovely pool to chill out around and a great selection of local wines / beers in an honesty fridge. A big thank you to Christopher, Avital and especially their fur baby Lola for creating some lovely memories and making our stay so enjoyable. We very much hope to return .... and hopefully sooner rather than later !!
