Hôtels proches de Santa Lucia Highlands, Monterey

This Motel 6 is so odd. It has some very nice parts. When I first opened the door I was impressed. It looked clean (it is), with modern, new, updated furniture and features (very large new mirror that is backlit, marble shower walls, new modern sink and faucet, and more). The mattresses are firm, but more comfortable than I expect at a motel. They seem to be some type of foam/memory foam. I paid for the more expensive room so that we could have a fridge and microwave. Both are fine. Now, here is why I wouldn’t stay here again: although the furnishings are new and modern, they are odd and mismatched. The two bedside lamps are very different (one very tall and circular, the other shorter and a rectangle). Although we have a room with two queen beds, the room seems to be built for a king sized bed, as there is an outlet directly in the middle of the wall above the head of each bed. This means I can’t easily charge my phone while I’m on the bed. The dresser, although nice looking, is a weird trapezoid shape that juts into the room (I literally can’t figure out what one would use something like this for, or where). The beds are tall (yay!) and have these attractive black walls under them so nothing can go under the bed. Great, it looks good. They are made of metal, and we are constantly kicking them. They clang and sound like if you were to kick a filing cabinet. When you are on the bed, if you move too much, you can hear them vibrating. If you are a light sleeper, this might keep/wake you up. The TV is small (maybe 30” or so?), and uses DIRECTV. We couldn’t get the remote to work. The man in front came to our room and showed us that there is a black wire that the remote goes to, and the black wire needs to sit in front of the box so that the remote will work. There are blackout curtains (yay!) but they are too long and cover the heater/AC. There are no sheer curtains, so when we are in the room we either are on display for anyone walking by, or have blackout curtains closed and rely on fluorescent/LED lights. Bottom line: if it is late at night, you’re driving, and you just need somewhere to lay your head, it’s fine. If you actually need somewhere to stay while you’re here, don’t bother. We’re here for 3 nights, and I can’t wait to leave.

Had car trouble on New Years Eve. Checked in and was delighted by front desk personal Michelle and Nadia. All smiles. John the night auditor too plenty of smiles. This is rare for a night auditor as they usually choose their job not having to deal with people. The upgrade in a/c and heating controls seem to have a few bugs still in them. TV screen was too small for the spacious room. Bathroom is nice and large too. Rug, really nice and thick carpeting makes it a dream to walk on. Though entranceway was not and naturally the bathroom too there was no coldness to ones barefoot touch. Kids rule. Perfect for the family as the breakfast included had everything one could wish for. Granola, when was the last time you enjoyed this at a hotel breakfast. Naturally the fruit loop container emptied fast. Orange juice was not, it dispensed cold water. Apples and oranges were supermarket size. Line at waffle maker. Hotel was sold out the previous three nights. There are none to match the quality here. One thing the bathroom could use would be rainforest shower heads. Hot water in about 2 minutes, as it is winter time. Lighting in the lobby and breakfast area supurb. Rooms were quiet, no outside street noise. Noise absent from adjoining rooms too. 3 not 2 large bath towels and accompanying smaller ones are nice. Clean hallways and rooms. Quick telephone response. One can see their smiles. .Pantry is well stocked and the dining area pleasantly decorated. Accompanying photos may be sideways as Trip Advisor has not corrected their bugs in the system. Elevator is quick, quicker than most of a three story abode. Entrance has two double doors and driveway is quite convenient Starbucks is at the corner. Quick trip to the Steinbeck Center. Secret, Cannery Row use to be called Ocean View until the publication of John Steinbeck's ”Cannery Row”. John was born in Salinas. Only until the early 1960's did the population of the Salinas Valley outnumber that of the Monterey Peninsula. John would not recognize it now. My grandfather S.F.B. Morse (Google) knew him well. John wrote his novels in Pacific Grove, a town grandad owned. Before he became famous for ”The Grapes of Wrath,” he wrote a column for a San Francisco newspaper entitled, ”Migrant Gypsies.”. Salinas would not be Salinas if it were not for agriculture. All the lettuce America eats comes from Salinas. Easy freeway 101 access, connecting to the Monterey exit. Salinas is the county capital too. Hotel is safe no car break ins at night. Microwave and large personal refrigerator are handy especially if you have kids. Train stops here. For those who enjoy the Coast Starliner from Los Angeles to San Francisco the hotel is 5 Uber minutes away. Not much to do in Salinas at night, so relax here. Le centre de Salinas est un hôtel très bon, nous avons visité le Centre national de Steinbeck. L'hôtel est confortablement situé à l'extérieur de l'autoroute, dispose d'un parking ample, les chambres sont rénovées et tout est nouveau et propre. Nous avons réservé une chambre King mais nous avons été améliorés à une suite magnifique et grande avec un balcon qui a vue sur la montagne à la distance. Il est également à côté d'un hamburger de McDonalds et In-N-Out et en fait un drôle de regarder toutes les voitures qui se répandent pour la conduite par les fenêtres pendant des heures (nous sommes faciles à entretenir). Le matin suivant, nous avons eu le meilleur petit déjeuner de toute la semaine de vacances. Il y avait des œufs et des sauces, des waffles avec comme 9 toits (!) plus du sirop et du toit, du yogurt, des œufs durs cuits, du toast, des muffins, 3 types de céréales, 3 types de jus, du café et 3 types de fruits frais. La chambre a été maintenue propre pour toujours.

La cabine dans laquelle j'ai séjourné était à une certaine distance de la réception d'enregistrement. Personne ne m'a apporté de carte et j'ai trouvé le mauvais endroit. . Les installations de la cabine sont moyennes, désolé pour le prix élevé, il y a du chauffage, l'environnement est bon, car dans le parc national. Le téléphone a un signal. Il y a du wifi payant dans la cabine, et il y a du wifi gratuit à l'enregistrement à la réception, mais la vitesse est très lente et il n'y a pas de signal sur le téléphone portable à la réception.

Très satisfait, les choses sont à la valeur! La chambre est grande et propre. Le bruit de l'air conditionné est probablement un problème général de l'hôtel américain. En outre, il faut conduire à l'extérieur. Environ 5 minutes de route peuvent aller à un grand centre commercial, tout ce qui est possible.

Il a été très bien placé pour vous faire passer la place de la ville. Les tarifs typiques dans le passé étaient soudainement 40 à 59% plus élevés! L'hôtel et les chambres à la recherche fatiguée peuvent certainement utiliser une mise à niveau. Le lit était si bien et la chambre sent un peu de merveille. Voyage solaire comme volontaire pour le golf a juste besoin d'une chambre avec proximité du golf course et un aménagement. Je prendrais ma femme ici pour une rencontre ... Non.

Si seulement ils avaient un petit déjeuner continental, des muffins et des fruits seraient agréables. Deux jours de relaxation à Carmel Beach étaient étonnants! Nous ne pouvons pas attendre de retour, bientôt.

Bien qu'il s'agisse d'un hôtel, la chambre est très large et propre, la décoration est relativement réantique, il faut aussi chauffer, la salle de bains est séparée, la salle de pluie est très large et la pression de l'eau est grande. Il y a une balcon et beaucoup de jardins verts à l'extérieur de la chambre, l'environnement est magnifique, surtout ils aiment leur petit-déjeuner, très riche! Cinq minutes de marche sont à la mer, et un supermarché important, il vaut vraiment la peine de congés familiaux!
