I cannot recommend this place. I was honestly just thrilled to leave! I think it may have been really nice at some point in the past. It fits into the landscape and the buildings are thoughtfully designed. The ponds are really pretty. And it’s a few minutes walk to the rainforest park. That said, they provide the barest of bare minimums. Nothing beyond the most bare bones accommodation. Yes, there was a bath towel, but no wash clothes, no hand towels. Yes, there was a trash can in the main living area, but none in the bathroom (it’s a small thing but I have stayed at motel 6s that have this!) Want cushions for your chairs? Nope sorry, just bare wicker. Hooks for your clothes, or hangers? No can do! I didn’t get maid service during my stay. It’s like the soup nazi on Seinfeld, but for hotels. I could not get hot water in the shower; on my first day they sent a crew over and I assumed they’d fixed the problem. Next day: no hot water. Again they send someone over to fix it. Next shower: again no hot water. I had resigned myself to cold showers until a small light bulb went off in my head. There is a tiny, unlabeled switch to enable the hot water!! Why, oh why, could someone not have explained this to me? It would have saved them and me a lot of trouble. Also there is a definite funky smell. I imagine it must be difficult given how humid it is in the area, but the bedding and towels all smelled like mildew. The strangest aspect of my stay was the fact that it was completely empty. Like the rapture had happened. But ordering food at the restaurant took eons. I don’t know why, given that I was almost always the only person there. The poolside bar was never, ever open that I saw. I knew it was fairly isolated but assumed with wifi, a poolside bar, and a restaurant, I’d have options when I wanted to relax. This wasn’t really the case. I just felt trapped and was really happy to leave.
