The good: close to bus and train station, clean and bright room, quiet room (no external noise from outside), air conditioning. The bad: Check-in formally finishes at 10pm (there is no reception desk or anything) and since our flight landed at 10:30pm and we had to get into the centre of Naples (15-20 minute drive), we had to request later check-in. The owner replied to our message saying this was okay and that he would "give us a present" and not make us pay the £20 fee for check-in after 10pm - as if the £20 fee was even acceptable in the first place! Not to mention this was not clear AT ALL when we reserved the room. Had we known about the fee for late check-in we would have booked elsewhere. BUT IT GETS WORSE. Our flight was slightly late and we couldn't leave the airport until 11pm despite all of our rushing. We messaged the owner to let them know we would be a little late and he said that he would wait until midnight, but if we weren't there by then, then the booking would be cancelled. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Not at all any fault of our own that our flight was delayed of course, and again no early mention that our booking would just be cancelled if we were just a bit late! Oh yes, and the 'hotel' is basically a few rooms on the floor of a very rough apartment block. In a rough area. With no formal entrance we only found the place because the owner's nephew had his eyes out for us when we eventually arrived. He could see us looking very lost and came up to us, using our names from the reservation. Had he not seen us, I honestly have no idea where we would have stayed that night... Once actually led inside and up to the room, it was fine. A passable night, the room was nice enough, but having been extremely put off by the experience so far I was glad to be out of there as soon as possible.
