Taka Matanzas

We absolutely loved it — everything was thoughtfully arranged down to the smallest details, and the care put into everything was truly felt. For example, we visited on a weekday and were almost the only guests, yet all the facilities were fully available: a campfire was lit so we could sit by it and roast marshmallows (they even provide marshmallows and sticks for free), and the hot tubs were heated throughout the evening in case someone wanted to take a dip without having to wait. It was important for us that the room was warm, and the heater worked perfectly — we never felt cold. The rooms are gorgeous, with a very cozy and comfortable bed, plenty of space to unpack, and a shower with three settings and hot water. I also want to highlight the incredibly pleasant scent of eucalyptus and wood that fills the rooms, the entire hotel area, and the eucalyptus grove along the way to the hotel. The staff is very friendly, and the service is at a high level. I 100% recommend this hotel.

We feel so lucky to have our friends bring us to thus gorgeous hotel. The view is spectacular, the room is so well designed and inviting. We got a good workout in the gym then enjoyed the wood-fired hot tub and a Pisco Sour. Dinner was marvelous!

Beautiful pools overlooking the Pacific ocean, hot tubs to soak in while the sun sets, a fire pit to keep warm in the cold winters, or to tell stories around it ! A lot of spaces in or outside, to lose time in, have a drink, read a book, or gaze at the waters around! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with good food and amazing music! This hotel is stylish with a laid back vibe. The rooms have a natural feel with a comfy bed, effective shower and a good sized balcony with sun and shade. Pay a little for one with a sea view as it is well worth it. The grounds are well tended with lots of native plants and there are private sun beds, a giant chess and a mini skate park. There are two TV rooms both of which have Netflix and Amazon Prime. There are two swimming pools with ample loungers, low key music and shade and there is a spa with massages but I didn’t use it. It’s a great place to unwind for a few days on the coast. However there are a few things to know or you won’t enjoy it. 1. It’s about 2k from Matanzas up a steep hill and there are no taxis or Uber so if you go into town you need to drive and pay for parking. I wouldn’t advise walking back along the main coast road in the dark 2. Complicated food is not their thing. Breakfast which doesn’t start until 9 is simple and samey and apart from that they mostly serve pizza in the bar. If you want a coffee, you get one for free from reception. 3. There is no air conditioning. This didn’t bother us as we set up a nice through draft but it might some people. However there is a heater in the room. 4. The staff are young and friendly but if you don’t speak Spanish not many speak good English although they try and communication wasn’t a big issue. 5. No TV in the room and the Wi-Fi is a weak outside the main hotel buildings That said it’s probably the nicest hotel in Matanzas and armed with this info you should have a great stay

De nuevo por acá y seguiremos viniendo. Taka a la altura en una revitalizadora estadía. Todo extremadamente agradable. Nuestra postergada y adelantada luna de miel fue maravillosa. Todos los espacios impecables, cómodos y delicadamente hermosos; cuidando cada detalle en donde se nota el cariño y buen gusto. El hotel a plena capacidad, pero ni se notaba la gente. Qué decir de la comida y la atención de todos y cada uno. La verdad felices
