This was my second visit to the hotel. The overall impression is that they need more help. Most of staff work very hard to manage the great number of visitors.. with only a few exceptions. Crystal in the Restaurant is a complete dynamo...and even managed to assist a relative newby who was clearly struggling.. and all with a broad smile. The restaurant had been consolidated over to one side, since my visit last year.... apparently due to less staff coverage. The Bar Staff were great... always ready willing and able... and front office staff were for the most part very helpful. It was however clear on a couple of occasions that one staff member (who apparently fairly recently transferred there), allowed his frustrations to speak rather rude and abruplty to both myself and several other people. He was busy and appeared to resent being asked questions. (Not ideal for a front desk position)... it actually became a topic of conversation among the guests... not ideal. The female manage definitely attempted to make up the balance in that area... going above and beyond to keep everyone happy. My room was on the 3rd floor on both last year and this recent visit.. and it did get pretty hot the first day. I figured out I needed to close the curtains during the day to keep it cooler, but the window situation was not ideal.. with a block of wood holding it open. (I almost lost the wood out the window, in the attempt to reopen it a little wider. Having a shoulder issue, I could barely reach to make the adjustment. Definately needs a better solution). I did appreciate the fan in the cupboard. The only other issue was the shower water pressure being very low every day though I showered at different times... lovely and hot but low pressure, forcing me to take the shower head out of the holder to wash myself off. Coach drivers were great and overall this is a great location and a good deal.
