Description de l'établissement
Commanding a premier position along the North Norfolk Coast overlooking the sea, this traditional Victorian building is just a short walk from the sandy beach and perfectly positioned in the popular seaside resort of Cromer. Maynard House is a Grade 2 Listed building built in the 1820s as it was the old Pier Commissioners House. We have retained a lot of its original character with a lot of old and pine furniture. Please note that we keep prices low as we ask guests to bring their own bedding and towels, and leave the property as clean as they find it. The beach, pier and town facilities are on the doorstep without the need for a car. Within 20 minutes Cromer is accessible to Norwich, the Broads and the extensive saltmarshes and sand dunes of the north Norfolk coast. The house is very close to shops, restaurants, theatre, tourist information office, museums, 4-screen cinema and library. The Coop is at the end of the road and enables shopping by foot whenever needed – 7 days a week with 8 to 8 Monday to Saturday. It is within easy walking distance of excellent public transport by train, bus or taxi. The Coasthopper bus enables you to walk along the beach and catch the bus back every half hour. Cromer is built on a cliff overlooking some of Norfolk's most sandy beaches, centered round its parish Church. It is famous for it's fresh crabs but also offers a wealth of other seafood. Young families have the beach, pier and town facilities on the doorstep without the need for a car. Families will delight at the excellent wide sandy beach, perfect for simply relaxing and watching the children play. Enjoy a stroll along the promenade with sunken garden and pier, with its working RNLI lifeboat station and museum, and end of pier theatre with year round entertainment. Excellent walking along the cliff top trail and 18-hole cliff top golf course and the club house nearby. Just 250 yards from the town centre with its wealth of shops. There are plenty of restaurants and inns to choose from. Sample the fresh seafood and shellfish, catch of the day may be purchased direct from the returning fishing boats or simply enjoy a choice of take out meals from the many restaurants. Events include the Folk Festival in May, Carnival Week (held during the third week in August), and fireworks over the water on New Year’s Day (weather permitting). The railway station is just a short walk away with connections to Norwich, the Broads and Sheringham. Catch a bus or drive to the Georgian town of Holt, 15 minutes away. The fine city of Norwich with its excellent shopping malls, theatre, cinema complexes, cathedral, castle museum, plenty of inns and restaurants is only 20 miles away. The Coast Hopper bus service extends round the picturesque coast as far as Kings Lynn and connects with boat trips to visit the seals. Neighbouring seaside town of Sheringham, 5 miles, for North Norfolk Steam Railway, Splash Aqua Pool, Sheringham Gardens, regular market days, shops, cafés, and restaurants. RSPB nature and bird reserves at Cley and Blakeney. Within 30 minutes Cromer is accessible to Norwich, the Broads and the extensive saltmarshes and sand dunes of the north Norfolk coast. Querky excellent location The house is located very close to the beach and town amenities. The Red Lion is very close by and is the best pub around. Although no parking with the property there is 30 mins free parking next to the church which is ideal for unloading. Cliff Ave is less than 10mins walk and on street parking is available free of charge. The property is unmodernised and comfortable with lots of character and homely with an array of art work and interesting items. It's an old property with a slight smell of damp on the ground floor but we loved it.for its querkiness and time gone by feel. It's in the town so expect some late night noise. We would definitely stay again. Ideally would have a larger fridge and new kettle.

Not great Property looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in MONTHS. It was dusty and covered in spiderweb and spiders every - which scared my kids. There was no toilet paper when i arrived. The bedroom with the bunk bed was NOT a child proof room. The lock on the giant window was broken making it easy for my 3 year old to open - terrifying. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable. The noise from the pub next door was awful. It didn't quiet down until 11:30pm most nights - worse on the weekend. There was no number on the front door, making it hard to find. The house was just generally outdated with outdated appliances and REALLY dirty and gross.
