We stayed for a weekend at the Wilderness Inn. The Alaska Suite was great, and very comfortable. This is one of their larger rooms. It had a queen size bed, 4 poster cannon ball bed, which had a good mattress and was very comfortable. There was also a small room with bunk beds. Helpful for clothes storage, or would be good for kids. The bathroom was roomy and had a nice jet-whirpool tub. The gas fireplace was a very nice feature, which got the room cozy warm. There is also a back porch with a seating area, which was too cold to enjoy. A full hot breakfast was served, with very tasty with 5 different made-to-order choices (omelette with choice of veggies, pancakes, crepes, fresh fruit, cerial). You need to sign up for your time slot the night. before, since they only serve 3 tables at a time. Just an FYI in. case you are on a tight schedule. There is also tea and hot chocolate available after breakfast hours The inn keepers seemed very nice and welcoming. On our second day Karen, one of the owners gave us a nice history of the hotel. The Inn is charming, very clean, and the furnishings are comfy. Our room was very quiet. We didn't hear a peep from the street noise or neighboring guests. There is wi-fi. Our room didn't have a desk, so it is best for a vacation or weekend get away. The Inn is about 3 or 4 miles to Loon Mountain, and right off route 93. So very convenient to ski country. I would highly recommend the Wilderness Inn and would return the next time I am in the area.
