From the pictures, I knew it would be special, but I was still surprised by the lovliness of this special "hotel." Quotes because it's not quite a hotel--it's more like a private villa in the country. I was travelling alone to research a book, so I wanted peace and quiet--and wonderful food! It had all of that! I drove to the nearby towns of Modica and Noto in the mornings, then to the beachs Calamosche and Vendicari. Baglio Siciliamo is perfectly located for day trips like that. Then I returned to the beautiful pool. I ate at the Manna, the restaurant, two nights and was blown away both times. It's very niche and gourmet--and exceptionally good. I had a room off the courtyard that had a beautiful outdoor seating area and was cozy and elegant (and dark in the mornings, which I love! I slept well! The blackout shades work!) Simone, Christina, and Fabrizia were all so helpful and nice! I stayed three nights, but could have easily extended for a week. I didn't want to leave. I'm already planning my return.
