My wife and I stayed at the Novina Hotel for three nights. We arrived late and there was no one at the reception, after waiting several minutes, I went to the restaurant to get someone. After we were checked in our room was clean and pleasant. As the hotel is in a quiet area of Nurnberg we wanted to eat, there was nothing local and the hotel was not serving hot food only cold salads due to the chef being ill. We settled for this. The bed was comfortable as were the chairs, the room was clean and it had a safe. However, the air conditioning was not working as it was only blowing out warm air, we had to have the window open. There were no tea / coffee facilities in the room. Not really FOUR stars. The shower was open plan and the toilet in a small cubicle. The Sauna / Fitness room was small and not operational. Breakfast was plentiful with a choice of hot and cold options. The restaurant staff were very helpful, polite and professional as it was very busy. They all spoke English. Some of the rude reception staff could learn from them. We ate at the restaurant and the food was good, I was disappointed when a fly landed on my plate, the hotel needs to put some UV light insect killer. TRANSPORT: We travelled from the airport via U-Bahn, it is reasonable in cost, EUR 3.20, clean and reliable. The nearest station to the hotel is Gustav-Adolf Str, make sure you follow the Tilly signs for exist. We got a Hotel ticket from the reception, cost EUR 10.80, which is valid for TWO days OR you can buy a day ticket for two for two for ONE day at EUR 12.40 at the station. Novina hotel is outside the city centre but the U’Bahn service is very good. I would recommend this hotel.
