We stayed here for a week with 3 families (10 people) across 4 rooms for a ski holiday. The short version is that this family-owned hotel tries hard and seems to invest in the property, but is some way off a 4 star experience which is what they market themselves at. Hence only a three star review and I think the family has a choice: take off a star, invest, or just experience the regular disappointed review (overall the hotel was full and hence they seem to be doing something right at the current price point) Location and ski-ing: The location is great and very close to the lifts and a bus station. The boot room of the hotel is a bit cosy and small, but overall from a ski-ing experience perspective, the hotel is ideally located (sometimes the wait for the bus can be a bit long) Hotel facilities and staff: The reception and bar area seems to have been recently refurbished and looks very nice. The Spa/Sauna is very decent although doesn't have a pool and no massages. There have been comments from prior visitors on the friendliness of staff. I didn't observe this and found them attentive and service oriented (all our requests were generally quickly sorted). The problem is however simple: there are not enough of them. This hotel tries to run with a minimum amount of staff which means you only have a restaurant buffet service and when the restaurant is open, the bar is generally not staffed and you can wait a long time to find someone (similar situation with reception). This hotel can do with a couple more staff to get the responsiveness up Restaurant/food: Some reviewers have described the restaurant as a high-end canteen, and that is probably a fair description. The owner is the main chef, and to his credit, a lot of the food coming out of the kitchen is quite tasty and cooked well. We also had a New Year's dinner at the hotel, which was done quite nicely given the amount of people. Where this place falls down is that a) it is a 4 star hotel and you simply can't get away with running a buffet only restaurant, b) the menu consists of a choice of three main courses and c) the restaurant runs a service between 6.00pm and 8.30pm (latest 'sitting' at 7.30pm). So effectively, if you come up to the buffet after 7.30pm, you are not guaranteed a full meal. Plus you have to flag your preferred choice in the morning - this is done to minimise food wastage which is a good thing, but having to decide in the morning what you want to eat at night doesn't exactly give you a nice holiday feeling. And while some food is quite tasty, if you don't like any of the three options, that's it... Rooms: We had a couple rooms in the main building (1st floor) which seems they had been refurbed and a couple of rooms in the lower building ('floor 6' at the bottom of the hotel) which were older. The rooms are spacious and clean. Shower pressure is good, water is hot. Sufficient storage space for clothes. And plenty of TV channels for different languages. That is however w
