My wife and I stayed here for two nights. The positives The view is to die for. The staff are excellent particularly the receptionist Erica and the dining room staff nothing was too much trouble. BUT the negatives oh my!!!. Our overall experience was one of a poorly managed hotel. Our first night we ate in the hotel dinning room which is classed as a gourmet restaurant!! Our first course was a cold dish and fabulous, the second course took an hour to arrive with loads of apologies from the waiter, my dish was terrible but in fairness my wife’s excellent. The next night obviously we didn’t want to go through a similar experience so decided to have a salad in our room, that proved impossible as they didn’t have salads, although listed on the menu but we did have raw tuna which was ok. We tried to phone reception to take our plates etc. away but there was no one on reception! Frankly with the price this hotel charges, the reputation it has one would expect much,much better . On Saturday after our dining experience I asked if I could speak with the manager only to be told he wasn’t available until Monday morning. When I did get to see him he was very sorry etc. but frankly by this time I had enough, Such a shame as the staff deserve better and more support. I think but am not sure the hotel had been acquired by a group who no doubt are cost cutting, but not their charges!
