Front desk: check in process was slow and the staff were rude. They refused to accommodate my request to not have connecting rooms. Then they printed room keys all for the same person. We reported we were given the wrong room type and requested a different room and they refused. At dinner the credit card processing was down and they tried to put our dinner on our room key but was unable. Our waiter even called the hotel and they refused. Our credit card we gave them for charging has a fifty thousand dollar limit, we were forced to wait at the restaurant for over a half an hour while they sorted it out. Hotel room: moldy grout in both of our rooms bathrooms. Lighting is awful hyper white that burns your eyes even in the daytime. Bed linens scratchy. Pillows lumpy and hard. Mattress smells and is most uncomfortable. No bathtub and no shower stool. Strange room design, such as a super tiny window and weird cloth bumper behind the bureau. Storage for clothing is a joke, couldn’t even fit my minimal amount of items. I pack very light, only 2 medium sized packing cubes both half full. Lobby is painfully boring and ridiculously white with dingy broken blinds. Hotel grounds are awful it feels like a business park rather than a hotel. I regret my decision to stay here so much that I’ve taken time during my trip to write this review. I would never stay here again and my trust in universal studios has been damaged greatly. Only good thing is that we just flew down for a short 3 night trip. One last thing: the room stays lit all night and cannot be mitigated. Bring light blocking electrical tape if you must stay here.
