Barton Gate Farm B&B

Excellent value, comfort and cleanliness Hostess was there to great us, she is a lovely lady and very pet friendly. Opened up breakfast just for us, both mornings, plenty to eat and option to have cooked breakfast, for a charge, if wanted. Room was lovely, double bed and single bed, very comfortable and spacious. No complaints at all!

Warm and welcoming Firstly, let me say, our host was fabulous. Very friendly and welcoming. We arrived late due to traffic and host was waiting, checking us in very swiftly. Rooms anre in a converted stable block. Our family room was spacious with 2 single beds and a day bed. Bedding was clean and comfortable as was room. The divan bases were grubby. Day bed was very noisy. Squeaky when moving and not so comfy. Wet room was very good size however there was black mould around a lot of the floor and walls. Toilet seat needs replacing as is delaminating and while I have no doubt this was clean created a perception that it was not. Sink was cracked. Generally, a bit of tlc would do wonders. Rate is as extremely competitive and included a continental breakfast. Breakfast room was across the driveway. Very clean with cereal, toast, waffles etc. a bountiful offering to get you started on your day. Coffee was lovely. Cooked breakfast was available at an additional charge which was good value for money. We would most definitely stay again.

Booked here as I didn't want to stay in a commercial hotel. As soon as I pulled up, I knew I had made the right decision. Absolutely beautiful setting, so tranquil. Paula, the host, made us feel welcome, right from the start. Continental breakfast is included and plentiful. If you want a cooked breakfast, it's a little extra. Our room was spotless, bright, and airy. The beds were comfortable and lovely bedding. En suite with a bath and shower over! Tea coffee making facilities plus a fridge, microwave,toaster plus all the crockery needed. We ended up staying 2 nights instead of just the 1. All in all. A fantastic host and a fantastic stay.

The property is unique; it's a converted barn building. The owner/host was very friendly! Breakfast option was great!

Barton gate farm was a great find when searching for family holiday. Had a triple room,plenty of storage although we lived out of suitcases. Beds very comfortable, a kitchenette if you wanted to self cater. Breakfast was a great start to the day, lovely fresh cooked breakfast or a continental. Lots of grounds to explore, daughter had fun feeding the fish. Lots of out door sitting to spend a lazy evening sipping wine. 10 minutes from beaches at bude get place to spend a day. Lots of local places to visit and eat. A must visit to the waterfalls at St Nectan. Thank you Paula for a great 8 days stressfree holiday. See you next year.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Barton Gate and regret not booking longer. Paula is a great host, very accommodating and friendly. Rooms are spacious and feel very homely, beds are comfortable one of the best nights sleep I've had in ages, rooms are also spotlessly clean. Despite being on a main road it was extremely quiet. Breakfast is your typical continental however paying for something cooked is well worth it! There is a games room on site, great if you have kids it kept our little one entertained in the evening. Located 1 minute from the Cornwall border makes it convenient to visit local places and not far from historic sites. We had a fabulous stay and feel sad to be home but will definitely be booking again. Barton Gate is truly a gem.
