We were afraid that Pano Platres didn't have any decent accommodation, despite its reputation as the summer capital of Cyprus. So we were surprised to find Petit Palais, a modest but very pretty inn, with all the rooms having pretty balconies with pretty views. There is almost no lobby to speak of, since the receiving area leading quickly into the bar. The front desk person, Dmitri, was such a funny guy to talk to. The room is on the small side, with a small modern desk, the modern design also reflected in the safe-minibar cabinet and night tables. There is no clothes cabinet but simply an open rod with hangers. There's a nice art frame above the headboard and a floor to height mirror. The TV screen is large, with several English language channels. We were disappointed with the T&B - too small! The shower stall seemed like less than a meter square. No bidet. There's no washboard around the basin - simple the basin, so no place to put your toiletry bag. Breakfast was wonderful - they had an omelet station which was impressive for the place. The restaurant offered a decent selection of fine dining choices for the evening. The food we ordered were all high quality. Kudos to the chef.
