This review is a tricky one as upon reading other reviews, I really didn't know what to expect. I have to say, it wasn't an easy experience. The hotel itself is all about the fabulous location (doesn't get any better), views and boutique vibe. The rooms are lovely and stylish. Yet the service is appalling. And yes, it's a real problem not having a reception or concierge. The staff couldn't even give me a dinner recommendation. I had to use their app and waited 3 hours before giving up and just googling something. I wonder why they have the restaurant on the ground floor as it was empty the entire week except for the weekend. There are so many restaurants and cafes around the square, I think they should change the restaurant for a reception and lounge perhaps. It was weird walking into a dark, cramped cupboard-like hallway as a reception with an odd staff member there every now and again. It was incredibly expensive as well so the value was a challenge for me. I had to ask every day for fresh teabags as they were never replaced and all the other small annoyances reported in the other reviews were consistent with my experience. So you may be wondering why I have given this 5 stars. Because I'd go back. I haven't been able to find another hotel in Paris that has such a fabulous location, in such a great building with such a great view. I liked the rooms too - they were all cosy (I have stayed in 4 of them) and if there is a competitor, I will switch in a second. Until that time, I only hope the owners sell to a boutique hotel company that understand how to run a hotel with excellent service and guests' needs at heart.
