This is the best stay I’ve ever stayed It’s a family run pension with two super friendly golden retrievers, the whole house is newly built, extremely clean, and decorated with good taste The dinner and breakfast are western- Japanese fusion, everything is homemade, definitely worth trying There is a nice and clean private onsen, or you can take a bus to have a day trip to other bigger onsen Minakami itself is a countryside area, and the pension is right next to the bus station There is literally nothing around the stay, so you need to get everything you need in Minakami station, but I think it’s a characteristic rather than disadvantage

The staff here was amazing. The service was exceptional and the sanitary also really good. Not just that but the food wasn’t just good but also offered an amazing in depth experience into the deep depths of Japanese cuisine. I would recommend anyone to come here if seeking a quick easy nights rest as its close to transportation.

We were in Hoshi Onsen 25 years ago, and we loved it so much that we decided to visit it once more during our recent Japan trip. Hoshi is one of the most traditional and older onsen in Japan, with more than one hundred years of history. Walking in its corridors or lingering in Hoshi-no-yu (the main indoor bath) you can really feel as if time had completely stopped and as you have plunged in a remote era. Yet it provides any possible comfort. Important renovations have been made, but always with great taste and respectful of tradition. Dinner is excellent and also the open air bath is really beautiful. The surroundings are also very nice and deserve a walk. It is a bit expensive, but no doubt worth the price

We had an amazing and relaxing stay! We truly loved it and had a wonderful night surrounded by serene nature. The view was absolutely beautiful — the lake is just right in front of the hotel! The place is spotless and very well maintained. But what truly made our stay special was the incredible staff. A big shoutout to Mr. Ozu, the General Manager, for going the extra mile with his thoughtfulness! When he learned that we were heading to the ropeway the next day (and that there were no bus trips on weekdays), he kindly offered us a ride. He was also genuinely concerned about our hike and overall safety — so heartwarming! Since we didn’t get the dinner package and there was only one restaurant nearby that closed at 4 p.m., we decided to get a takeout for dinner. My friend also asked if there was a nearby café to buy a cake for my birthday, but there wasn’t any. Later that evening, after we came back from the onsen, someone knocked on our door and surprised us with a complimentary cake! They said it was because we didn’t have dinner and they wanted to celebrate my birthday. Awwww! Such a thoughtful and sweet gesture! 🎂💖 In the morning, Mr. Ozu even gave us taxi numbers and the bus schedule for Yumoto Onsen, making sure our travel plans went smoothly. Truly amazing hospitality — we felt so cared for and appreciated throughout our stay! 🌿✨

Le petit déjeuner et le dîner sont similaires à un bon repas, des aliments délicieux pour chaque repas. La chambre est propre avec un ustensile aussi. Et l'atmosphère est très bonne Si vous revenez ici, vous resterez ici encore Si vous revenez un mois de neige, il devrait être très bon.

La chambre est très nouvelle, grande, propre et confortable. J'aime le bain privé Onsen à la balconie face à la rivière, il est très relaxant. le petit déjeuner quotidien était bon, nous pouvons choisir l'ouest ou le japonais fixé le jour précédent. Le menu dîner était délicieux et une bonne présentation.

Nice staff. Good room. Location is a bit far from things but good for quiet environment. Driving is a must. The food, good but not as good as some other places we were in before. Recommend to try especially if in the area.

La façon dont ils vous montrent à votre chambre, la façon dont ils vous mettent vos chaussures et les ramenent à votre date de départ, la façon dont le dîner et le petit déjeuner vous attend à votre table privée, la façon dont ils laissent les couples partager une rencontre pendant des heures de repos. Le personnel et toujours là, vous vous occupez de vous de manière subtile, mais vous ne vous sentez jamais regardés ou intrudés. Ce type de service invisible - peut-être difficile pour les occidentaux de comprendre, mais il est excellent. Vous serez vraiment bien compris et soigné. Très recommandé. Meilleur service hôtelier que j'ai eu au Japon depuis 2 ans. Très recommandé.

Our visit to this hotel was perfectly adequate. The traditional setting provided a nice sense of atmosphere, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. The onsen facilities themselves were clean and relaxing, meeting our expectations for a hot spring experience. Our room was spacious, but the amenities felt a little dated and could use some refreshment. Dinner and breakfast were included, offering a standard array of Japanese cuisine that was palatable, though not exceptional. The staff were polite. Overall, it's a safe and decent choice if you're looking for a no-frills, standard onsen hotel experience.

Le dîner et le petit-déjeuner sont auto-assistants, donc je suis heureux que les enfants puissent choisir ce qu'ils aiment. Je suis heureux que tous les végétariens soient faciles à manger. Tout d'abord, chaque repas est très délicieux, je dis à ma famille que je veux aller encore une fois. Les enfants sont heureux. Il est aussi attrayant de prendre un bain 24 heures. Je veux vraiment y aller une fois de plus.
