Chateau Le Mejean is a rare gem, a stunning home set in the most beautiful and tranquil countryside. I enjoyed every moment of my stay here. A heartfelt thank you must go to the hosts who welcomed me so generously to their family home, and went above and beyond in helping me to make my trip to France successful. They were also incredibly generous with breakfast, which was local breads, pastries and jams, juices, yoghurts and the best coffee I’ve ever tasted. The house itself has plenty of character, it has been lovingly and carefully restored with tasteful rooms, plenty of space and gorgeous courtyards. My bedroom was spacious, had all the amenities I needed and felt like the perfect retreat after a busy day. Opening the windows in the morning to the sight of beautiful countryside, the sound of birdsong and the smell of flowers. The location is not far from Pessac sur Dordogne, a pleasant village - do make sure you’ve planned your transportation in advance, as rural France can be a challenge to get around, as you’d expect. Overall, one of the best trips I’ve ever had, all thanks to the wonderful people at Chateau Le Mejean. I hope to return for a longer stay!
