"The Newark is a budget hotel about a mile from Peterborough city centre, so it may not be ideal for tourists (it's popular with forwarders, construction workers and such). But you can easily reach it by bus (lines 5, 5a) from the centre. The hotel was still being refurbished when I arrived, and my en-suite double was certainly modern and clean. The bathroom facilities I found to be excellent, except there was no rag for the towels to dry, and the bathroom door didn't have a cylinder (yet?). The shower was big (no curtain or door though), and the water pressure adequate (not a given in budget hotels). The bed was comfy, and there was enough storage for my clothes and stuff. A 32" flat-screen Tv was provided, with a remote. Free Wifi was available, too. I really wish they would have provided a toilet brush though! Early check-in went smoothly (direct email contact with the hotel was excellent), don't be put off by the gloomy-looking reception area. There's a very basically furnished garden to the back where you can hang out. The room service was a bit spotty, but I really didn't need it every day anyway. ;)"

"I went to Peterborough to visit someone dear in hospital and this place isn’t far. It’s also near the shopping centre. Tapas is a nice host. If you don’t mind sharing facilities with other people, this place would be nice for you. The price is also reasonable. It’s more like a home style place. Thank you Tapas for your kind words."

Service on the day by reception staff was poor. Not very helpful. Definitely prefer premier Inn would not use Travel Lodge again"

"Nous avons eu un grand séjour avec Phil et Stephen. La zone autour de la propriété est inhabituellement belle avec la rivière qui coule tranquillement le jardin parc-like, et dans le quartier, vous voyez beaucoup de belles maisons avec belles jardins anglais. Nous avons choisi de rester un jour plus que prévu, et heureusement Phil et Stephen avaient la place pour nous. Outre le fait qu'il contient tous les détails pratiques, y compris les mus-view et les différents pubs et restaurants, il est une petite pièce d'art avec les plus belles photos et hébergements. Il ne peut être fortement recommandé de prendre un séjour en River Neen Cottages – et si nous traversons la zone un jour encore, nous réserverons bien sûr un nouveau séjour."
