這個小鎮本身就很漂亮，從這酒店行出市中心就五分鐘。這酒店超級賺，很細緻，很衞生，洗浴用品都是高級的。

We paid £1,800 for a 3 night Christmas break and then a further £200 to stay for an extra night. We felt that it was a lot of money but thought we would treat ourselves. The hotel looked impressive, the surroundings beautiful and on entering ,the decor was eclectic and pleasing to the eye. However my husband’s worst fears were confirmed when we were told that meals would be served at a large communal table. This reminded him of Pontins in the 1970s and he was not thrilled. In fairness we were told later on that another couple were not happy either and tables for 2 were sorted- in a different room . No one wanted to appear anti social on the first evening so we and the other couple joined the main group. The couple sitting next to us said that they would prefer to sit separately too. It was very noisy and not easy to hear what people were saying. From that point on we decided to sit in the separate dining room. We noticed a young couple having their lunch by the fire in the bar and thought it would be nice to have our evening meal there so that is where we decided to sit. This did not go down well at all. The owner looked very annoyed. The table was quickly set. We were questioned by someone .I assume it was the owner’s partner. It went something like: Him- Didn’t you fancy sitting on the big table tonight? Me- No Him- Oh why was that? Me- Well it’s just nice to come away at Christmas, relax and not do anything you don’t want to do. Him- Oh yes when we first opened people said ‘ Oh no not the big table!’ Me -Yes that’s because not everyone wants to sit there. I was starting to get a bit annoyed. The previous evening I was a little concerned about the protein content of the meal. It came in courses -which I expected but there was little physical evidence of peas, beans , lentils , nuts or vegan cheese. Each course was basically an arty vegetable on a scraping of something with possibly a drizzle. Tonight’s offering was similar. The courses also took ages to come out. My husband asked for some ice to take to our room and was told that some would be sent up. It didn’t happen and he came down in his pyjamas 20 mins later to ask again . The owner then stropped off to get some, clearly not happy. The next day we started to worry that our Christmas dinner was going to be more of the same. Some of the casual diners had ordered a nut roast dinner for lunch which looked brilliant.We enquired and were told that no we wouldn’t be having that. We were offered one at lunch time on Boxing Day if we paid an extra £20 each. We thought we were having a roast lunch on Boxing Day as we had paid £ 2000 but it turned out to be soup and half a sandwich - a very pretty half a sandwich and there was some protein in the form of chick peas. Christmas dinner was more of the same. There was a course of a slice of Wellington which I think may have had some food value We spent about £50 at the bar. My son and daughter in law gave us a voucher as a gift . H

What has happened with this hotel?? We have a pre paid booking (a gift) for two nights mid October and have just received a generic email saying goodbye to customers etc. The website is no longer active either so I guess that's them closed. No courtesy email/call to let customers know what's happening, unbelievable.
