Hotel Luci di la Muntagna

Porto Cervo|À 0.49km du centre-ville
We have just arrived home from what should have been a wonderful holiday. Our plan was to see some of the island by booking trips with Jet2. Hotel room, the air conditioning appeared not to be working. When asking at reception for someone to show me how it worked I was told that it was controlled by reception who then adjusted the temperature setting, there was no notice in the room to state this, again other customers were less fortunate than me as they were told the temperature couldn't be changed, I witnessed the receptionist having the ability to do so. Hotel Restaurant: hidden service charges called coperage for the use of plates cutlery etc 15 euros per head for sitting outside on the terrace, 7 euros per head for sitting inside. 7 euros per head for eating a 10 euro sandwich under the gazebo by the pool bar (this cost was not displayed anywhere by the pool, picture below). The restaurant charges were mixed in the very small print with the allergen information at the bottom of the menu. We were too embarrassed to move as we had already been served drinks. To add insult to injury the food was lukewarm / cold when it eventually arrived. The buffet breakfast was ok but there was no variety on the hot food selection unless you paid an extra 8 euros for a poached or fried egg. Steps leading down to the pool area were very uneven and rustic and had no handrail, the other set of steps were the same however did have a handrail that was covered with shrubbery growth and you couldn't access the rail properly. All guests of any age found the steps awkward. At the top of the steps there was water / sewerage leaking from a manhole cover, it was smelly, they spent a lot of time trying to flush the blockage away and didn't manage to stop it leaking so they covered the area with fake turf to help soak it up, to access the pool area from the hotel you had to walk over this wet turf. Pool not cleaned properly for two days (because it was forecast rain, it rained after 5 on just one evening!) water thick with insects and plant debris. They had a robot bottom of the pool cleaner that could only reach so far, the shallow end wasn't cleaned at all and pieces of plastic from bottles were fished out of the pool by one of the clients. In all the years I have holidayed I have never seen a pool so dirty, especially at the shallow end where you entered the pool. Met the Jet2 rep to book some trips. I wanted to book a wine tasting trip as well and was told there needed to be a minimum of six people booking. I then asked about the Taste of Gallura cooking experience to be told again a minimum of six people required. Why advertise trips!! There is no mention in the small print of the Jet2 brochure of the need for a minimum of six people. We were sold a boat trip with and agent not in the brochure. Tuesday 13th June a sign went up stating we had restricted access to the pool, restaurant and the lounge bar (only bar in the hotel) as there was to be a private funct

I stayed here with a package holiday from EasyJet. I read numerous reviews and most of which were not very complimentary. I honestly don't know where some of the reviews came from as I was really pleased. Room was spacious , clean and air con worked fine. Bed was really comfortable and the staff all very helpful and polite. There is a little supermarket within walking distance - head to the Marina where you will find a lovely pub called the Lord Nelson next to another restaurant and by the supermarket. (Door to door it's an 18 minute walk max) about 1.3km. I would definitely recommend, although if staying longer than a few days you may want to hire a car and explore the island a little more.
