Splendido Mare, A Belmond Hotel, Portofino

Splendido Mare is a quaint 14-room Belmond hotel in Portofino which takes hospitality to another level. There are many luxurious hotels in Italy which have good restaurants and great locations. What sets Splendido Mare apart is that it's not only in a remarkable location in Portofino and has a great restaurant, but it has a staff that doesn't just go through the motions of service—they take it to another level. Because of the small number of rooms, they know every guest and focus on their needs. As an example, my wife has a gluten allergy, which excludes her from having many food items. However, at this hotel, gluten free pastries were sent to our room and breakfast items, such as croissants, were available for her daily. Michela Nicosia, the hotel manager, went out of her way, as did her staff, to ensure that she had the same culinary experience as me and didn't have to sacrifice because of this allergy. This attention to detail applied to every aspect of our stay. If you want a hotel which has great service and cuisine, but with a quaintness larger hotels lack, Splendido Mare won’t disappoint.

I always dreamed of coming to Portofino and stay in Splendido hotel , it was a dream comes true . Every thing was beyond my expectations I am bery happy to have this experience with the hotel of my dreams

We reserved this location as it said it had a pool available when we made the reservation but when we got there, the pool at the main Splendido hotel was said to be closed. That was a disappointment as a pool was important to us. otherwise , the room was upgraded and the staff were very pleasant .

When we arrived at the Spendido Mare hotel in Portofino we need we were staying at somewhere pretty special. From the welcome to the room, to the food and most importantly to the team - the experience was exceptional. The hotel is a beautiful place to spend some time, gorgeous rooms, amazing food and wine, not to mention the awesome cocktails. The dining experience is second to none - you just have to good to experience it all. When we left it was sad as we did not want to go, the whole team at the Spendido Mare were unreal - they made us feel so welcome and nothing was ever a problem. We will be back
