Recently returned from a one week stay. We had two superior double rooms with sea view. The rooms both had huge balconies - 2 sun beds, 2 deckchairs and a table and 2 chairs on each balcony. We had 2 teenagers but for some reason this hotel does not have any twin bedded rooms. They didn’t want to share a double bed so the sofa bed had been made up for them. It was really hard - our 14 year old is almost 6 foot tall and he said it was like sleeping on a brick. I asked if he could have a mattress cover, extra duvet or anything to make it a bit more comfortable but they said there was nothing they could do about it which I found a bit strange. The rooms were very clean - housekeeping staff here are excellent, always cleaning and we had fresh towels and the rooms cleaned every day. We found the whole hotel very clean and tidy. Can change beach towels daily. There is a stocked mini bar in the fridge, free for first use then payable on refill. We arrived late and were given a cardboard box each which contained a cheese sandwich. Two slices of stale inedible bread, slice of curled up cheese and a bit of lettuce and mayo. They went in the bin uneaten and we all went to bed hungry as nothing else to eat save the Pringles in the fridge! We were all inclusive but only had breakfast as we ate out every night in Protaras and Ayia Napa. The food and restaurant does let the hotel down. I can’t understand why the restaurant is so small for the size of the hotel. It wasn’t high season when we were there but can imagine it’s a nightmare when it is. No room to move around in there, and as a consequence of its size not as good a selection as we have experienced in other Atlantica hotels. The food wasn’t always very warm either and you were always queuing for hot drinks/juice etc. The restaurant staff and manager are lovely - as were all the staff we came across. Always tried to help and very pleasant to speak to. They are a real asset to the hotel. The pools were good albeit a bit cold as you’d expect this time of year but about half were out of the sun by early afternoon and you ended up chasing the sun round to the garden area at the back of the hotel. Lovely little cove/beach across the road at Hotel Mimosa. We spent most days at Konnos Bay which is a 10 minute walk away and absolutely beautiful. We didn’t see any of the entertainment as we were out every evening but the area in the bar they use for it seemed very small. The skyline bar has lovely views, it’s not part of the AI and only open from 6pm which is a real shame as it is lovely up there. Location wise we liked it. We come to Cyprus 2/3 times a year but the first time we’ve stayed in between resorts. The buses are frequent and get you anywhere you want to go and they stop outside the hotel. Taxis are good and it’s easy to get into Protaras or Ayia Napa. We walked into Protaras one evening, took just over half an hour. We had amazing weather all week, the days shorten after the clocks go back and sunri
