The Orchard Palace was built as an annex of the Huzoor Palace, the family residence, in the late-19th century to host personal guests of the Maharajas. Converted into a seven-room heritage hotel, it is appointed with 1930s and 40s art deco furniture, antiques and handicrafts.The property gets its name from the lime, chikoo and mango groves it faces to the rear. More than 80 peacocks and peahens inhabit the gardens, and a variety of other birds can be watched while walking around the grounds.One of the highlights of the palace is the Rail Saloon of the royal family of Gondal. This saloon has been converted into a suite for a couple or a family to stay with drawing room, dining room and bedroom, beautifully finished with inlaid wood, and English washrooms with a telephonic shower.

Si vous faites étape à Gondal alors je vous recommande de séjourner ici . Le cadre est magnifique .le personnel est au petit soin et vous vous sentirez comme chez vous . Mention spéciale pour le dîner est servi à table qui est excellent avec un service soigné . le salon pour se poser avant dîner est magnifique avec de très beaux objets exposés .Un petit tour dans le jardin pour découvrir le train de la famille royale … merci pour l accueil et l hospitalité que vous m avez accordés. Tout était parfait

Un lieu où le temps s est arrêté .Le palais regorge d objets de toute provenance .Les chambres sont vastes ,la literie très confortable. le palais est un havre de paix au milieu du tumulte de la ville toute proche .Dans le jardin on peut encore visite l' ancien train du Maharaja qui est resté dans son jus .Ne pas manquer la très belle collection de voitures ... Que dire aussi de l excellent repas que nous avons pris dans la belle salle à manger sous le regard attentionné du personnel . Vraiment une très belle adresse à Gondal !!

Je ne suis pas un fana du traitement esthétique de l'extérieur du bâtiment. Par contre, l’intérieur ne manque pas de charme: jolis salons, beaux meubles et joli parc en centre ville. Notre chambre n'était pas immense, contrairement à celle de nos amis ( même appellation, même prix) mais très correcte de même que le restaurant. Et en tant que client, nous avons pu visiter le palais de Naulakha, pas très loin, (qui appartient aussi au maharadjah de Gondal), et ses collections dont une belle collection de voitures anciennes. Et le wagon personnel du maharadjah... De quoi donner des idées pour une future réincarnation éventuelle....

très belle résidence avec des suites spacieuses, un coté "palais indien " des années 30 visite du train perso du maharadjah, de sa très belle collection de voitures, un bon repas servi par des gens en uniforme . Seul bémol pas de whisky à boire dans la galerie ouverte du 1er étage pour être vraiment dans une ambiance rétro.

We did not stay at Orchard Palace. But went to see the palaces and had lunch there. We had a wonderful experience at their restaurant. The staff was kind enough to accommodate us though we did not have a prior booking. All dishes were delicious and were informed how the food is prepared in the main palace kitchen under instructions from the Rajmata herself. Staff were very courteous and warm. There is vintage car collection to see at Orchard palace and Naulakha palace has lots of other collections which can easily take 3 hrs to see. Palaces are closed between 1 to 3 pm for visitors.

A very odd place. Plus are the staff if you can find them and the excellent food. Negatives - very run down room furnished with charity shop furniture. Happy valley garden is nice if you like plaster flamingos. This is no palace. Not sure what the alternatives are in Gondal.

One of our best "hotels" ever - it`s a real palace and you can see and feel it. Enormous rooms, common rooms full with precious furniture and objects of art. A walk through the garden and to the car collection is absolutely necessary. The staff declares you everything - even the food for us foreigners!

A palace converted into a Resort, a wonderful experience.The management had taken great care while renovating the palace. They have combined ,modern facilities while retaining the palace ambiance as far as possible. Rooms are very spacious with a huge anteroom and toilet.Very good for families with kids. Great ambiance with Peacocks moving all around. The collection of vintage cars 🚘 is an added attraction. Please don’t miss it. I have never seen such a collection under one roof.All the vehicles are in workable condition and very well maintained. Should be recommended for Geneses book of records . Food served is excellent with special emphasis on local cuisine. The staff members are very friendly and well behaved. Keep it up.

I felt like like in a second home ! The staff is so wonderful and care for their guests! Food is so good, everything harvested in the palace! Definitely I will come back on my next trip to India and stay again in Orchard Palace! Ask for the car collection and Yitu !
