The booking pŕocess - 8/10: we were well aware that we were overcharged and that seems like a common thing based on many comments here, but as there is an elderly in our group and roughing it is not an option, we didn't have a choice and hoped for the best. After booking and payment, they give you minimal, next to no information really, other than saying they got your money. No idea when they'll give you the flight tickets, what to pack etc. You had to ask everytime, and although they did promotly answer, it would be nice to get full information without having to constantly ask. 3 days before your arrival, they did send all the necessary information though. This is inconvenient unless you're travelling straight there, as if you leave home and go elsewhere before your trip there then the "essentials to pack" info is rather useless. They really should fix this and send all the necessary information immediately after full payment is made. The property - 9/10: very lovely. The scenery is unmatched, the rooms are comfortable enough considering where we are. Note that tap water is brown and in the 3 days we were there, we experienced power and water outages twice. Wifi was available throughout the property and has good speed, although it stopped working several times. This is still quite impressive though considering the location. The service - 6/10: I'm rather conflicted because the staff were really mixed. Some were really lovely, but others just outright ignored us. Not sure if that's because we don't speak Spanish or due to us being Asian. One of the thing that bothered us is that the restaurant was never ready at meal times, and we always have to wait 15-20 minutes. It was mostly tolerable except on checkout day when we were basically thrown out of our room at 6.30 am with several staff putting fresh sheets and talking loudly on our porch but breakfast wasn't ready until 7.15, and we weren't even allowed to sit on the damn table. The activity guide - 3/10: he seemed to hate his job, or us. Minimal information, even less if you don't speak Spanish, even less if you're Asian. Most of the time we didn't even know what was going on and he seemed eager just to get rid of us. On the trek to Angel Falls he basically took off by himself. You could break your neck, got lost in the jungle, or died of dehydration and he wouldn't even realize. Other guides from other groups that we passed by were more corteous and helpful to us. Now we are not asking to be treated like royalties, but I believe basic safety precautions is necessary. Overall the property is lovely and the scenery was unmatched, but if you don't speak Spanish, are Asian, not in top physical condition (because God help you if you need any help at all while on excursions), I would advise you to stay somewhere else, especially considering their high price.

It would have been 5 starts if we didn't have to find out that different people in the group paid different amounts for this experience. Resulting in a very bitter aftertaste. However, Waku provides an amazing experience for those interested in experiencing Canaima and visiting the Angel Falls.

From the moment we arrived at Waku Lodge, we knew we were in for an extraordinary experience. Nestled in the breathtaking landscape of Canaima, this lodge is more than just a place to stay; it's a gateway to a world of adventure and natural beauty. The lodge's commitment to safety and adventure strikes a perfect balance, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the stunning scenery and wildlife of the area. We were thrilled to see and interact with an array of amazing animals, from playful monkeys and vibrant macaws to the elusive danta all within Waku lodge. Every moment was like a scene from a nature documentary. Our experiences were greatly enhanced by the exceptional staff. Omar, with his infectious kindness and vast knowledge, led us on an unforgettable kayaking tour. His expertise added depth to our adventure, making it not just fun but also informative. Ernesto, our guide to Angel Falls, was another highlight of our trip. His extensive experience and knowledge were evident as he led us through the trek, sharing insights that only someone with deep understanding of the area could offer. His passion for the environment made our journey to the falls an enlightening experience. Jaiver's impeccable service was a constant delight, especially around meal times. His attention to detail and eagerness to ensure our comfort made every dining experience a pleasure. Oriana, the mastermind behind the seamless logistics, ensured that every aspect of our stay was well-coordinated. Her excellent communication and focus on guest safety were commendable, making us feel cared for and secure throughout our stay. Excerpt Addition: Adding to this remarkable experience were Charlie and Eloy, our skilled navigators through Canaima's incredible waterfalls. Their unique advice about wearing cotton socks to prevent slipping was spot-on and added a quirky, yet practical aspect to our adventure. Their guidance made the exploration of these natural wonders both safe and exhilarating. We must also express our gratitude to Edgar, whose diligent management of the background logistics greatly enhanced our stay. His initiative and thoughtfulness shone brightly when he arranged for an additional drive into the town festivities for our group that missed the first van. Edgar's willingness to go above and beyond ensured that we didn't miss out on any aspect of the local culture and festivities. The lodge itself deserves a special mention for its amazing food and services. Every meal was a culinary adventure, reflecting the richness of local flavors and ingredients. The variety and quality of food were beyond our expectations. Each member of the Waku Lodge staff, with their unique contributions, played an integral role in making our stay not just comfortable, but truly memorable. Their collective efforts have left an indelible mark on our hearts, making Waku Lodge a cherished memory in our travel adventures. In conclusion, Waku Lodge is not just a place to stay; it's a

Had a great time here. A clear highlight was the animal life around the lodge and even in the restaurant. On one occasion there were 7 different mammal species and 3 bird species inside the restaurant! Good rooms, very good food, and lovely service. The 4-night option was a great way to go, including the overnight Falls trip. I also want to mention that if you want to get to Brazil or Guyana, you can take a charter flight to Santa Elena and carry on from there.

We went there for a drink and animal encounter while in the area. Very professional staff, with plenty of information about the area, always at your service. In the lodge restaurant you can hand out with monkeys and parrots, while sipping cocktail and enjoying a million dollar view.

The lodge is absolutely beautiful on the shores of Laguna Canaima. Pick up at the airport seamless , comfortable rooms , excellent food and very friendly staff. They are the best organized outfit for excursions including a full day to Salto del Angel. Their guides are excellent with special mention to Omar and Charlie. Don’t book through a Travel Agency. They will charge you 30% more. Better to book direct through the Waku Lodge instagram page , they can even book the Caracas-Canaima flight for you. To experience.
