The booking pŕocess - 8/10: we were well aware that we were overcharged and that seems like a common thing based on many comments here, but as there is an elderly in our group and roughing it is not an option, we didn't have a choice and hoped for the best. After booking and payment, they give you minimal, next to no information really, other than saying they got your money. No idea when they'll give you the flight tickets, what to pack etc. You had to ask everytime, and although they did promotly answer, it would be nice to get full information without having to constantly ask. 3 days before your arrival, they did send all the necessary information though. This is inconvenient unless you're travelling straight there, as if you leave home and go elsewhere before your trip there then the "essentials to pack" info is rather useless. They really should fix this and send all the necessary information immediately after full payment is made. The property - 9/10: very lovely. The scenery is unmatched, the rooms are comfortable enough considering where we are. Note that tap water is brown and in the 3 days we were there, we experienced power and water outages twice. Wifi was available throughout the property and has good speed, although it stopped working several times. This is still quite impressive though considering the location. The service - 6/10: I'm rather conflicted because the staff were really mixed. Some were really lovely, but others just outright ignored us. Not sure if that's because we don't speak Spanish or due to us being Asian. One of the thing that bothered us is that the restaurant was never ready at meal times, and we always have to wait 15-20 minutes. It was mostly tolerable except on checkout day when we were basically thrown out of our room at 6.30 am with several staff putting fresh sheets and talking loudly on our porch but breakfast wasn't ready until 7.15, and we weren't even allowed to sit on the damn table. The activity guide - 3/10: he seemed to hate his job, or us. Minimal information, even less if you don't speak Spanish, even less if you're Asian. Most of the time we didn't even know what was going on and he seemed eager just to get rid of us. On the trek to Angel Falls he basically took off by himself. You could break your neck, got lost in the jungle, or died of dehydration and he wouldn't even realize. Other guides from other groups that we passed by were more corteous and helpful to us. Now we are not asking to be treated like royalties, but I believe basic safety precautions is necessary. Overall the property is lovely and the scenery was unmatched, but if you don't speak Spanish, are Asian, not in top physical condition (because God help you if you need any help at all while on excursions), I would advise you to stay somewhere else, especially considering their high price.
