Description de l'établissement
Rack up your travel miles at Rodanthe’s vacation home, Frequent Flyer! Whether it’s a day at the sandy ocean beach, water activities on the Pamlico Sound, world class fishing, or island exploration, let Frequent Flyer be the hub of your next vacation. Check your flight plan online with a full video tour and pictures! See what other guests have to say about the Frequent Flyer in the traveler reviews section and don’t forget to like us on Facebook. Why choose the Frequent Flyer? Because the Frequent Flyer features four bedrooms, each with their own private bath, two with private decks! This fully appointed vacation home boasts spacious living and dining areas, a cook-pleasing kitchen, and expansive decks for incredible views of the Pamlico Sound and breathtaking sunsets. You can access the Sound via a private grassy lawn to swim, fish, or play using the owner-provided kayaks and stand-up paddleboards! The Atlantic Ocean is just a short walk with paved access all the way to the beach. There you can relax all day thanks to owner-provided chairs and umbrellas. There are no long paths across dunes to struggle with on this part of the island. You can stay connected with complimentary internet access or unplug and tour the villages on the owner-provided bikes. Sit back, relax, and make your vacation a first-class experience at the Frequent Flyer. The Frequent Flyer from a Parent’s Perspective If you’re like me, “family vacation” brings Chevy Chase and the Griswold’s to mind. Bored kids, an over-packed “family truckster” and expensive meals are just the beginning! I wanted to share why vacationing with my family at The Frequent Flyer takes the National Lampoon out of the equation and makes for not only great family fun but also a real vacation for me. The ‘man cave’ (aka garage area) of The Frequent Flyer is packed with extras to keep everyone busy! From sand toys to bikes and Kayak’s to stand-up paddleboards, the family will have plenty to do and you won’t have to pack, or worse rent, all of the toys that make life at the beach more fun. There are even beach chairs for the whole family! From the best tanning deck on the house, I can watch my kids play safely on the beach of the shallow-water Sound. They spend hours trying to catch hermit crabs and minnows while I catch up on my tan and favorite book. The fully equipped kitchen means we can save a fortune on restaurant meals and my teenagers can eat their late-night cereal and frozen pizza. We save buying the bulky but essential items such as napkins, tin foil, saran wrap, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies because the owner provides them as a convenience. And when you decide to eat out, the local restaurants are family-friendly, reasonably priced, and amazing. The Frequent Flyer from a Watersport Enthusiast The Frequent Flyer has a grassy 1 acre Soundfront lot, a perfect rigging area for every water sport. The winds from the S to NNE are ideal for kiting and windsurfing on the Sound side. While it is possible to kiteboard on the inside of the bridge area, you will likely want to access the water west of the bridge. As winds go NE to SE, you can launch directly across the street on the Ocean side. The house includes a ground floor enclosed ‘man cave’ plus a storage room for equipment. There are equipment racks outside for drying and inside to lock up at night. A half bath and two showers are outside under the house, in addition to a cleaning station with a utility sink and hose. We can clean up our gear so that it is ready the next day. Rigging, launching, and storing your gear is a breeze at the Frequent Flyer. The ‘man cave’ also has a small bar, and a fridge which adds to the convenience factor. This house really caters to those who want access to the Sound and Ocean for watersports. When the wind is not blowing, the Frequent Flyer still delivers with 6 bikes for cruising the island, 3 kayaks, and 2 stand up paddleboards. And of course, no trip to Hatteras Island is complete without a visit to the local surf shops. Fortunately, Real Watersports, Kitty Hawk Kites, and other shops are all within a few miles. The Frequent Flyer from a Fishing Perspective Why settle for the Ocean or Sound when you can have them both! The Frequent Flyer is located on a very narrow segment of the island providing access to both Ocean and Sound fishing. If your target is inlet fishing, “Oregon Inlet” and the “New New Inlet” are just north of the Frequent Flyer. Convenient storage areas make unloading and storing your gear simple. A deluxe, outdoor fish-cleaning table makes prep a breeze. Bring your casting net as bait can easily be caught along the shore of the Sound. If you prefer to buy bait or need to update your fishing gear, several bait and tackle shops are just down the street including, Hatteras Jack. Offshore Fishing Charters are available from nearby Oregon Inlet or head south to the Hatteras Inlet. The Frequent Flyer is a dream vacation spot for avid fishing enthusiast and novices alike. The Rodanthe ‘Jug Handle’ bridge bypasses the S-curves area just north of Rodanthe. The southern terminus of the bridge comes back into land South of the Frequent Flyer, along Pappy lane. To fish near and under the bridge, you can walk from the Frequent Flyer private Sound access lot as the water is shallow. Trout and Drum are plentiful. Please let me know of any questions or concerns. We look forward to another great season in 2022 and make it our goal to ensure everyone has a 5-star vacation experience. Just Add Swimsuits Frequent Flyer is so insanely well equipped for food, fun, and comfort, you really just need to bring yourselves, arrange for sheets and towels, and fill the fridge. Mark’s the kind of owner who checks in to make sure everything’s ok, and all you can say is what do the red drum like again? Our extended family use every bike, kayak, and inch of the place, and leave baiting our hooks for next year. Soundside Rodanthe is where it’s at.

OBX Family Vacation at the Frequent Flyer Annual family vacation. First time to OBX. House was very clean & well suited for our extended family. Frequent Flyer has many amenities as well as a well stocked kitchen. Private bathrooms in every room were definitely a bonus. Paddle boards & kayaks were frequently enjoyed for fishing & exploring the sound. Beach was a short walk from the house. Many laughs & drinks were shared on all three decks. Our stay couldn’t have possibly been more enjoyable. Mark was very attentive & checked in periodically to make sure everyone was enjoying their stay. The only downfall was our week was far too short. Thanks for sharing your home with us. We highly recommend staying at the Frequent Flyer anytime you are in Rodanthe.

Perfect for a family of seven The house was immaculate and perfectly suited for 7 adults as every bedroom had a full bathroom and there was plenty of room in the common areas. We also loved hanging out on the three decks that overlooked the sound. The ocean access was a short walk down the driveway and across the street. Mark was extremely responsive to any questions. I don’t hesitate to recommend this awesome vacation home.

Encore! Encore! What’s to say but that Mark’s crazy-well equipped Frequent Flyer has quickly become an integral part of our annual escape to Rodanthe. As repeat guests who predate the close-by Jug Handle bridge, we might also add that we think nothing is lost here. The beautifully understated bridge somehow elevates those killer sunsets. Biggest relief? No privacy lost for the outside showers. Mark could not have acted w more diligence when the washer that started the week broken had to be replaced. Nice to be in such great hands!

Excellent property Our family had a great time at the Frequent Flier! Each of the 4 bedrooms were set up perfectly with their own private bathroom. In addition there is a half bath on the main floor so everyone’s bathroom stayed private. The outdoor showers are super handy and fun. Location was great for walking to the beach. The large dining room table made for great family meals and transformed into a fun game table at night. Mark responds super quickly and is so helpful. We had a great week making family memories here!!

Rodanthe Frequent Flyer Took the whole family out to the Frequent Flyer and had a wonderful time. Kayaks were a blast with easy access to the sound. It rained the week before our stay and a couple times while we were there. The mosquitoes were horrendous, so bring lots of bug spray to get the kayaks to the water. House was a wonderful place to call home for the week. Loved the clotheslines for drying swim suits. Games for evenings after exploring. Beautiful sunsets from the deck. Lots of goodies, well stocked for kids and families, which is something we really appreciate in a rental. Mark checked in and made sure to let us know he was available if we needed anything or had questions.

Great Vacation Week The Frequent Flyer was the perfect vacation spot for our family. Located perfectly between the sound and the ocean, and supplied with all of the "toys" needed for land and sea activities, it was exactly what our family needed for a great week of fun, relaxation, and bonding. We loved it and hope to come back again next year.
