Hotel Select Garden

Comfortable smallish room and tiny bathroom. The breakfast is not great and we avoided it as everything was so sugary. Only 5 minutes from Termini but the bed was so uncomfortable and we were surprised that the room was cleaned but the bed wasn’t made The hotel us actually called the Hotel Astoria Garden - weird!!

Located just east of the Rome Termini station in an area filled with hotels, the hotel was recently combined with its neighbour the Astoria Garden hotel. The old Hotel Select entrance is no longer in use & instead you enter through the Astoria Garden. The location is also close to two small grocery stores & easy access to buses & the train station. Our room was located on the ground floor facing the street & was quiet enough allowing us to sleep. However this meant that we really couldn't get any natural daylight in the room. The room was laid out nicely with a couple of twin beds, a small fridge, a wardrobe & a small bathroom. The only drawback was a long wait for hot water. Breakfast was self serve in the basement & featured a good selection of breakfast dishes. It also had an entrance to the beautiful atrium garden which featured lots of tables & plants.

The room I and my partner stayed in was disgusting and dirty. Maybe other rooms are updated but make sure you hold them responsible for dirty rooms. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I care about. Warning to anyone with kids, or travelling with women. The area is full of ************ and homeless people that will target tourists.

The garden at the hotel was wonderful! You could sit there in the evenings among lemon and banana trees, and you could have your breakfast there. The room was OK and the staff nice. Not so far from Termini (Central station).

Staff were friendly and welcoming. the rooms were in the garden, which was ideal for our needs, very quiet at night, the rooms were adequate for our, the only one thing I would change would be the bed mattress was hard and old springs, need update. The overall experience was very good, few minutes from train station and resturants and the metro.

No heat in room, no shampoo (they told us to buy some), no drinking glasses in room, poor internet, noisy with people outside our window and talking loudly going up and down stairs outside our room. The garden is pretty.

Location was great, very close to Rome central train station. Breakfast was very good and having it in the garden was lovely. Room was a bit small but clean and so was the bathroom. It does have an elevator so you do not have to lug suitcases up to your room.

Good location. Nice garden, but full of pigeons, smokers, mosquitoes and air-conditioning units. Pokey rooms, poor breakfast (hard to find fresh fruit, no real juice), can be noisy. Definitely not worth the $.

Very close to Termini station which is good and bad at the same time. It's quite a disgusting neighbourhood which is, of course, not the hotel's fault. Our room was small with a cramped bathroom. We did have a nice sitting area to ourselves. Breakfast can be taken in the pleasant garden but it involves going up and down stairs every time you want something. It's unlikely that I would consider staying here again mostly because of the garbage filled streets and undesirables everywhere.
