I’ve stayed at Hotel San Silvestro twice now—first in 2016 and again in April 2025—and it’s only gotten better with time. The hotel has been beautifully renovated while preserving its charm, and the location is outstanding: steps from the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, charming piazzas, and even several Michelin-starred restaurants. Despite visiting during an incredibly busy time in Rome (the Pope’s funeral, Jubilee Year, and Liberation Day), the hotel was a peaceful refuge. (Plus, the wi-fi was stable and always available from the room). The soundproof windows made it easy to rest, and the staff went above and beyond, even arranging airport transport for us. It’s the kind of place you almost don’t want to share, just so it stays your little secret—but they deserve the recognition.
