The stay was terrible. The service on the desk was next to non-existent… short two word answers and no smile at all did not fill us with hope. After the socially painful check-in, we went into our double rooms and were instead greeted with furnaces! On a hot summer day we were greeted with rooms that had no A/C (the labels specifically said the A/C would only work at making the room hotter, not colder. There was a floor fan in the corner of each room, which was a very basic fan that provided more noise than relief, and the room windows opened onto a very busy road. The rooms felt grubby, with chips and cracks everywhere and the bathrooms echoed this sentiment, with a layer of grime in the shower/baths. The only good thing about staying here was the car parking, which had more than enough space at a reasonable price. I would not recommend staying here, it was a very disappointing experience that did not meet our expectations from other Premier Inns we have stayed at.

This hotel at Mercury Gardens is usually very good and the beefeater is great. However this visit was dreadful, the room was excessively hot to the point of not being able to sleep at all over the night. The room did not cool down at all. The weather on the day I checked in was approx. 24 degrees outside, in my opinion this is not excessive. Premier Inn provided a fan which just blew hot air around the room. no refund was offered under the good night guarantee due to T's and C's which covers hot rooms without aircon. If you want to sleep and its warm or hot outside. Do not use this hotel if you want to sleep.

Could not check in a moment earlier without charge - meaning it took a long time to check in at 3pm. Perhaps they could use more than one staff member to move this line faster. Corridors smell, the room had all windows open on arrival - I imagine to mask this here too. Taps on the shower were broken meaning that it would only run at the highest temperature.

Stayed at Premier Inn, Romford Essex , from 10th to 13th May. Had a hired car. Gave reg to hotel when checking in. Today 30th May, I get a fine letter from rental car company, saying I've been fined £35 for illegally parking at hotel on 12th May !!. How can that be when we gave reg when arriving on 10th. Not happy and not paying fine.

Very nice hotel, close to shopping mall and train station. The only problem was the smell on the ground floor but the staff said they are dealing with it, apart from that rooms nice but a bit outdated, we were told there will be a refurbishment soon so look forward to to be back

The bed was really firm you can give it a lot of action there is no issues. The ground floor was a great room for going in and out to get fresh air quickly. We leave the door to our room open when we went out to air out the room a bit and no one went in and messed with out stuff. Ill be visiting again soon to do a longer test on the sofas as our room didn't have one.

Excellent staff and location. I have been told they’ll have a refurb soon soon which makes it more exciting to return . Staff is always welcoming and going above and beyond to help, one of the reasons i keep returning . Look forward to the new refurbished rooms

The staff were very lovely, and the room cleaning was done really well. However, you had to ask every time that you wanted a room clean, and have never been to a hotel before this where I have had to request a room clean. The bathroom was also not in a good condition, there was chunks of wood missing from the door, and the bath had a chunk missing from it also. The filter fan in there was also very noisy. There was no air con in this hotel, and my room was at a constant 37-38 degrees despite having the windows open and a fan. It made for very sleepless and unpleasant nights. I did not sleep well here, and based on that alone, I would not return to this hotel. Which is a shame as the staff were lovely, and the room clean was done to a great standard.

Premier Inn is always a good well known name and know exactly what you are getting, nice reception, nice staff, clean, generally all round great service. would prefer a walk in shower, not climb into the bath, could do with a little refresh, although very clean, carpets need replacing and a decorate throughout. Great comfortable bed as always! had breakfast and dinner here and all food was lovely.
