After reading negative reviews on here about the Citrus Hotel, I thought it only fair to say how good a dtay we had. Very polite welcoming staff, great spacious twin room and lovely breakfast, where nothing was too much trouble. Dated.. ..a little but very clean.

Stayed here last night it was ok. The room was very dated and had tape keeping the lampshade together. It also had odd damp patches on the carpet. Reception was friendly enough, and bar prices were a bit steep for the hotel. I would say my room number 18 even though it was quiet every time the person above me turned the water or shower on it made the pipes under me make a horrendous noise so maybe that could be looked into .

I tried to ring before I made booking and got short shrift from a man who picked up the phone who told me to call back after the weekend?? I gave them the benefit of the doubt and made our booking a month before our scheduled date. They emailed the week before to say they had a group booking and had cancelled my booking I rang and the lady who answered gave the impression she didn’t care and just said I refunded you yesterday. I will never use this group of hotels again if that’s how they treat customers

After our recent stay at citrus Coventry, I thought I'd give you some feedback. The room that we stayed in was large but that was the only good thing about it. The bed was so hard that the floor would have been more comfortable. I guessing that it was an old mattress and the springs had gone as no useable one would be that hard. Neither of us had much sleep. The carpet looked as if it had recently been cleaned but obviously only in the places that (I'm guessing) had been vomited on. There was also a smell in the room that wasn't actually very nice. The breakfast was the only thing that was any good. There wasn't even anyone around to complain to before we left

Awful experience. Tired, dirty and run down. Carpet was disgustingly sticky, couldn’t take shoes off. Unhelpful staff Leaking bathroom Paid £150 for a one night stay which was an absolute rip off. Save your money and book a premier inn. Bar prices extortionate

Just stayed at the hotel for 2 nights while attending the British GP with my son. Having read some of the reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect. Some areas of the hotel do need upgrading, our room was dated but nothing to really to moan about, the room was huge with 2 king size beds, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer and shampoo in the bathroom. The water when having a shower was just warm but again it’s not something we felt was worth calling reception about. Apart from the evenings we were never in the room. The evening meal and breakfast was fine and perfectly acceptable. The staff were friendly and helpful at evening meals and breakfast, would I stay there again? Yes

Room was tired, dirty and not a nice experience. Chair at desk in room did not stay up, the room smelt fusty, it was cold, heater did not work. Plenty of parking and receptionist friendly enough. Needs a refurbishment. Would not stay here again.

This was my first weekend visit to the Coventry Citrus to pursue my interest in classic car shows. Parking was straightforward. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly. My room was clean, pleasant and spacious. Evening dinner was available at a time to suit me, a very acceptable menu. The food was served cheerfully, promptly, hot and tasty as was breakfast. I found the beer and wine very acceptable, again, served cheerfully. The staff always found time to chat which is to be commended. My verdict - I'll be back !

We stopped of here the night before crufts. Having the dogs it’s great to have somewhere that allows them in the rooms. The food wasn’t bad but but perfectly enjoyable. The rooms are dated but the beds are comfy. They did seem to be understaffed. We were always looking for someone to serve us at the bar, sometimes even going into the kitchen to get someone. Would come back.
