Arrived in very early hours of 14/04/25 with a bunch of work colleagues and waited, told by receptionist himself when he appeared that we had woken him up! Breakfast was already paid for but told by receptionist that I have to book a time for breakfast across the way at the pub, which I did. As with Premier Inn, couldn’t really fault the room, it was clean, bed comfy and had everything that was needed for an overnight stay so can’t fault it. Went to breakfast about 3hrs after I had checked in, (0630) walked into an empty pub to be told by the lady that a time had not been booked. When I said, it had only been a few few hours ago it was booked by reception, I was met with huffing, puffing, her looking through the bookings list, still mumbling and basically called me a liar , I corrected her and said don’t speak to me in that tone, at which point she looked around a completely empty pub as if struggling where she would sit me, walked to the nearest table and said it’s buffet help yourself. She not only needs a lesson in customer service but also basic manners. I see the lad from reception outside smoking when I went back and he assured me he had booked it. Not a great impression of the staff from what is a nicely situated decent hotel.
