Sophie (and Jacques) is the ultimate hostess. She takes care of every detail. From the moment we arrived she greeted us with a cool drink and then asked about our plans. She provided an insider's expert advice on what to see, what to do, how to get there and how to make the most of our limited time in Saint Mandrier. She provided maps, timetables, detailed descriptions, etc. ...and good restaurant recommendations. The view from the terrace to the old town and across to Toulon is spectacularly appealing. The terrace was our own private oasis with Mediterranean plants and succulents growing throughout the grounds. So picturesque. Breakfast is a beautiful sight, not only to eat but to experience. Fresh breads, homemade jams, fresh honey, fresh juice, homemade pastries, eggs, etc. She makes everything in house and her passion for entertaining is demonstrated on her table. Jacques is a master woodworker; is handiwork is on display with all of Sophies delicacies. The apartment was roomy, comfortable and quiet. Bathroom/shower well appointed. Parking is available on the street. What a magnificent place to stay.
