We stayed for one night, so I didn't use things like the television to review. Though the TV did look new and modern. We just weren't there long enough to need to watch it. I'll base this review on my onw night's experience. I reminded myself this is only costing me $113 for the night and that was the lens I was looking through. We go to Port Clinton and/or Put In Bay every year. This was a last-minute trip. We have stayed in many different establishments. Upon arriving, we checked in. Check-in was extremely easy. We were given a key and instructions for check out. The woman at the counter (maybe the owner) was extremely friendly and let us know she was available. She gave us a phone number to reach her. We stayed in room 1. We went to our room and my husband reset the clock since it was blinking. When we returned from Put In Bay the clock was blinking again. Everything on the powerstrip was off until the lights were turned on. With some experimentation, we figured out that if you just leave the big light switch (when you walk in the door) on and turn off the lights at the actual light, the electricity on the powerstrip stays on. This was important because we both have sleep apnea and needed to run our machines all night. Once we figured out that mystery, the rest was a breeze. I'm mentioning this because I saw in an earlier review that someone had a problem with this. I felt like a lot of love was. put into running the place, the flowers outside the lounge were beautiful. We were only there a night so I had no reason to go into the lounge, but I did enjoy the flowers. I also appreciated the floors. I have stayed at many hotels and everyone has had carpeted floors. If you have issues with mold and mildew carpeted floors can mess you up. I am one of those people who has such an issue, so I was so happy to see the floors were not like that. Our only real issue was the beds and that could partially be chalked up to be our own fault. We had to sleep in separate beds. We are not small people and the bed was small. Also, there was only one nightstand it was in between the full-size and the twin-size bed, and as I said we both have to wear sleep apnea masks at night. I think if there had been a larger bed with nightstands on each side, the room would have been equal to Island House rooms except that it isn't in the middle of town. My husband works with computers and electricity and was troubled that the wall socket moved a bit and with the way the strip was up. So, I guess there were two things we found troubling. However. This room was not expensive and I've stayed in rooms that were close to this that cost much more. Check-out was even easier than check-in. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to save money.
