Black Sand Apartments

We've just returned from a wonderful week at Black Sand Apartments. We were a group of 3 adults and stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, which was much more spacious than we expected! Definitely agree with previous reviews that the current pictures on the Jet2 website don't do the place justice. We arrived at around 11pm and Mantha was there to welcome us. She is an amazing host and can't do enough for you. She said that if we ever got into any issues anywhere on the island to just give her a call! The breakfast was varied and delicious. I particularly enjoyed the provision of PG Tips tea bags! The pool area was great and never too busy, and the food at the pool bar was great for a pool day lunch. Kamari itself is a great base to explore Santorini. There are loads of great restaurants and it is much more affordable than the Fira/Oia side of the island, but really easy to visit those areas using the public bus service. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to recommend Black Sand Apartments and hope to be back one day!

7th Sept 2023 We arrived at about 9.30 in the evening to the Black Sands Hotel & very warmly greeted by Mantha who carried my big bag to our apartment after we enjoyed a complimentary drink at the bar. Our apartment was very big & spotlessly clean with a gorgeous big shower & lovely aircon although it was only in the bedroom & not in the front room. We ate breakfast every day which is included & had bacon, eggs, fresh bread, toast, cereals, fruit & yoghurts, with endless coffee, tea & juice. Mantha was there every morning wher friendly chat, brilliant stories & is the most helpful person & so kind. I don't know how she finds the time in her day, but she always makes time for everyone. We loved the pool & great sunbeds & free towels. The pool bar are there all day for full meals & drinks all day. It was the most relaxing stay, the place is gorgeous & spotlessly clean. It is a great location 5 minutes from the beach & there are dozens of bars & restaurants in both directions but not too loud to sleep. We highly recommend Black Sands & Kamari as a great place to visit.

WOW!! We just came back from another fantastic week in Santorini. Booked with Jet2holidays to stay at Black Sands Apartments on a B&B basis, staying in a standard double room. we landed late and reached the hotel at 11pm - the coach drops you almost at the front door and you have 150m to walk to the hotel(max!) We were met and welcomed by Mantha to the apartments, check in was easy and straight forward. Mantha outlined everything breakfast times (8-10) pool bar, food orders, etc. and also asked to check if you have any food allergies / requirements. Mantha showed us to our room which had everything you needed; air con, kettle, fridge, tv(never switched it on once). there was an extremely welcome 2l bottle of water in the fridge. bathroom had a huge walk in shower, big enough for two. it was a power shower which was simply joyous to stand under !! (had a switch from overhead to hand held showerhead for washing hair, not that I have any!) went for breakfast and Mantha is there to great you and welcome you to a new day. breakfast has everything you need in a breakfast, muesli/cereal option - continental option - fried option - croissants / fresh bread, jams, honey, nutella, coffee, water, juice, etc. the pool area has plenty of beds, with none of this 5am towel wars! the pool is good size to do lengths (or widths)and has a jacuzzi section at one end. the pool bar is open from 10am until 10pm, with food being served from 10am until 9pm. when we had a pool day we ate lunch at the pool bar and were not disappointed in the slightest, the food was delicious and sizeable portions, with it being very reasonably priced. bar man is a great bloke, and the young lady chef is a great cook. the hotel is centrally located on the road back from the actual beach front (if that makes sense) and is literally a five minute walk from the beach bars and restaurants. it has a perfect location for wobbling back after a couple of cocktails (too many) on the front. Now, going back to Mantha..... Mantha is THE perfect host. Nothing is too much trouble for her and always wants to know you are happy and having the best time. despite our late nite check in, she was still as happy as a lark the following morning for breakfast, she is infectious with her helpfulness, whether thats asking where to eat, where to drink, attractions to go and see, bus times, where to get the bus. we are getting married next year and after only day two of our holiday, we have booked the honeymoon and will be stopping at Black Sands Apartments again. a point to note when you are looking online, the photos do not do Black Sands Apartments the justice they deserve. This was our second visit to Black Sands. Martha is an incredible host; The barman Raeed (not sure about spelling) is very helpful and friendly. Black Sands is a value for money, quiet little haven which is definitely worth a visit. Very clean rooms, comfortable bed with linen changed daily. With 5 mins walk of beach and restaurants. Amazing stay.

Wonderful holiday, Mantha could not do enough for you. Quiet pool with plenty of beds and umbrellas. Great food & drink and easy walking distance to bars/beach. Highly recommend. Also highly recommend the Oxygen sister hotel…even quieter pool and lovely rooms, some with a sea view.

From the moment we arrived (around 12.30am) we felt so welcomed and knew instantly the hotel we picked would be a good choice. Mantha was so lovely, caring and couldn't do enough for you. Always so bright and cheery when she saw you. Anything you needed to know about the island she was willing to help with so much knowledge, nothing was too much trouble for her. The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful also. Our room was big and spacious, some may say a little dated but it didn't bother us whatsoever, it added to the character if anything. Our balcony faced the road, and although was noisy during the day the sun it attracted was amazing. The pool area and full hotel in general was spotless during the whole of our stay. Food and drink at the pool bar were reasonably priced and all of the food (generally just lunch) we had was spot on! If I were ever to go back to this beautiful island, I would 100% book back here without hesitation! Keep up the good work Mantha and team and thank you for a lovely stay 😊

Wonderful stay at Black Sands. We loved it as it’s small and friendly with a personal feel to it. We had a standard apartment which was very clean and well equipped. Comfortable bed and a lovely balcony. The hotel is situated within walking distance of the beach which has numerous restaurants to choose from. A short walk to the bus station and also the open air cinema. The pool area is small but very well maintained and we never had any difficulty in finding a sun lounger. Breakfast was simple but with good choices. The hotel also has a bar menu where the food is reasonably priced and very good value for money. We have to give a huge shout out for the manager Mantha, who went out of her way to make our holiday so special. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she is so lovely, warm and welcoming. We couldn’t fault any of the staff here. All and all we had a lovely time here and would 100% select this hotel if we return to Kamari. Very highly recommended.

An unforgettable stay here, Mantha is the heart and soul of this lovely traditional hotel. She can’t do enough for you, the rooms are spotless, fresh bedding and towels, the food at the pool bar is fantastic, the pool is cleaned daily. What more could anyone want. I would recommend here to anyone.
