DO NOT BOOK! Our stay started off on a positive note, but unfortunately it quickly turned into a very upsetting and stressful experience—especially considering this was the beginning of our honeymoon.
After using the main pool, both my husband and I experienced a very unusual and alarming skin reaction. Our skin developed white patches almost immediately after getting out of the water. At first we thought it might be sunscreen, but neither of us had applied any. The marks were extremely difficult to remove and required prolonged scrubbing in the shower.
What was even more concerning was that the condition worsened later in the evening, with the white patches becoming more visible and widespread. This is something neither of us has ever experienced before, and we have no history of skin conditions or allergies. It was distressing and completely ruined what should have been a special first night of our trip.
We raised the issue right away, but the response we received was disappointing and dismissive. We were told to see a doctor, which was simply not realistic as we were checking out the same day and had a tightly scheduled honeymoon itinerary across multiple countries. Expecting us to cancel flights, ferries, and accommodations at the start of our trip was unreasonable.
We were also told that no other guests had reported issues, but no proof or explanation was provided. It is very difficult to accept that both of us had the exact same reaction at the same time if there was nothing wrong with the pool or surrounding area. To this day, we have received no clear explanation for what caused this.
The proposed solution of offering free nights in the future was also impractical and out of touch. We had already left Santorini and live very far away—returning just to use those nights is not realistic. A meaningful resolution should reflect the actual inconvenience and distress caused.
Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing. Instead of enjoying the start of our honeymoon, we were left dealing with confusion, discomfort, and frustration. Given the price point and the reputation of the property, this situation—and how it was handled—fell far below expectations.
