This charming and unique hotel was our home for the first two nights of a three week trip to Sardinia. It proved to be one of our highlights. We also booked via Dolce Vita as part of a hiking trip. We were welcomed by Lucilla on our first evening who was equally charming and spoke passionately about the family home, and the history of Sardinia. She also provided us with plenty of tips for our holiday. The following fine dining experience was delightful, with delicious food, prompt service and fine wine. The next evening we wanted a simpler meal and were given directions to the local pizzeria, with food served to us in take-away cardboard boxes, at the single table and bench in a tiny room, with the oven crackling a few metres away. A complete contrast but we enjoyed the experience as we struggled to communicate to the two staff members in our very basic Italian. Back at our accommodation, just reaching our room was adventurous, as we climbed stairs, exited the first house, crossed a cobbled street, entered the second house, walked through a courtyard, got distracted by the books in the library and climbed another flight of stairs. Our room was comfortable and spacious, with a view over the town. Lovely. On our final morning we enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet outside in the courtyard, whilst I tried to capture the idyllic scene with my camera. We left feeling as though we'd discovered an authentic piece of Sardinia and have already recommended this special place to friends. We will certainly return.
