Indigo Snail Boutique Hmong Homestay - Hostel

Very friendly and welcoming host! The setting is like out of a movie and the food they prepared is delicious! Greatly recommended! Stay here if you want to feel at home! We only stayed here one night, but we would have loved to stay longer! The rooms are also very luxurious and clean and there are mosquito nets to protect you from the mosquitos!

Really enjoyed the cooking experience, they made us feel at home, they were very kind. Contrary to most other homestays who are managed by non-locals, this one is managed by a local host, Sung, from the Hmong ethnic tribe, so you get a real experience! Absolutely recommend it.

We had an amazing experience with Sue! We did 2 days of trekking and stayed in her Indigo Snail homestay, which was fabulous. Sue was so friendly and so knowledgeable of the local area, having lived here her whole life! The views around SaPa were amazing and Sue brought us to some areas that were not as busy with bigger tourist companies. The homestay itself was fantastic, we had a fabulous modern bungalow on the property to ourselves, and there was a delicious home cooked meal which we shared with the family and other travellers. I would highly recommend!

Sue (Host) was so accommodating with her hospitality. Rooms were in fantastic condition and the food provided was delectable. Sue goes over and above to ensure you are comfortable and even helped us with a ride back into Sapa. Sue also runs a trekking business where you get to see all around her village. She takes your personally along her route knowing exactly where to stop for the best pictures. Could not recommend this place more.

Fantastic stay at Sue’s home stay. She has such a beautiful home and a wonderful family. Felt really at home here with her and our bungalow was so well made and kept the warmth in all night! The food was fantastic! We had such a yummy dinner with fresh vegetables, meat and the best rice I’ve ever tasted. Breakfast was also delicious and I really enjoyed all the fresh fruit including pineapple and banana. Sue also made these amazing banana cakes that were too good! Hard to stop at just one. We went on a five hour trek with Sue and it was an amazing experience and allowed us to see all the beauty that Sapa has to offer. Sue is very knowledgeable and was able to give us details about her culture, plants, farming and village life. If you’re planning to stay in Sapa and want a truly authentic experience then you should definitely stay at Sue’s place! She’ll make you feel like part of the family and give you a special glimpse into Hmong Culture

My family of 11 was there for 2 days and we wished we could have spend more time there. The oldest in our family was 72 and the youngest 8 and surprisingly, both young and old enjoyed their stay. We thought our children, used to modern luxuries would find the place boring. But it was rhe simple pleasures that touched their hearts. Making this stay the highlight of our entire 9days trip! The trekking lead by the owner of homestay was very enjoyable. She knew the place well as she lived there her whole life. She catered to our pace, level of fitness and age. That was greatly appreciated. The delicious meals she prepared for us was nutritious and my mum could not get enough of her Happy Juice! She said she slept really well and was very happy indeed. As my niece had egg allergies, they thoughtfully prepared eggless version of the spring rolls etc. All these just shows the amount of care put into making all her guests comfortable. The place is at Tavan not in sapa town itself but she can arrange for taxi transfers for you from the bus station and to sapa Town. As its end of the year, winter, we were blessed with awesome weather for our hike but woke up to a cloudy, cold raining day. All these, added to the experience of staying in the village. Just spending quality time with each other, playing with the dogs and reading. Also, there is good WiFi connections. We got the SIM cards from the airport. So the children could play games on their ipads too. This is a real home not a "setup" village. There are real stories and nuggets of experiences waiting for you to explore and find. So go there with an open heart.
