Hotel Splendid

The food was average. The water pressure for our shower was rubbish. The beds were short and narrow. I didn’t report this to staff as not sure what they could have done apart from maybe change our room. The bar has strange opening times. They closed it at midnight one evening while people still using it and a debate took place which ended up with the manager intervening and keeping the bar open. Another night we returned at 10:30pm from eating out (our large group) and they had closed the bar. No one there. Bar snacks only available on a Sunday which is a toasted sandwich. So if you’re hungry, you need to wait until the restaurant opens at 7:30pm. If you want to go down into town in the evening it’s about a 20 min walk back up the extremely steep hill. The bus service ends at 5pm. Last year we stayed at the Relais Des Alpes in town. Food was superb although most people in our group found the beds very hard. But half distance to the Clotes lift. You can get the bus with Crystal over to Montgenevre but you’ll need to carry your skis n boots all the way back down to where the coach drops you on your arrival. Be aware that you could be picked up by Crystal at 5am on your return to the airport and have to walk down the steep icy hill in the dark to the coach park. That wasn’t fun.

Lovely family fun hotel on the edge of Sauze with a 5 minute walk to the piste. Yes it's up the hill from town but that fact was clear in the hotel information when we booked. The staff are welcoming and incredibly helpful. The food is excellent and plentiful with a good range of options both at the breakfast buffet and for dinner. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Also enjoyed the use of the swimming pool. Ski storage available with the bonus of boot warmers. If you don't like walking up hill maybe this hotel is not for you, but we loved it.

What a fantastic hotel this is to ski from. The welcome we received from all the staff and the owners was fantastic. The food including the buffets were great. Fantastic pool, gym, sauna and bar area so all in all we had a great time thank you so much. Our group had our usual fancy dress night and the staff joined in too, so great effort thanks! ⛷️⛷️xx⛷️⛷️🍻🍻
