Hotel Portillo Dolomites 1966'

Wow, what an amazing hotel and spa! The most perfect hotel after a day of skiing. Great service from the moment we walked through the doors. Have a token for a welcome drink upon arrival and shown straight to room to get settled. Receptionists were lovely and helpful. Daniela serving us drinks was amazing, great service. Beers beers beers 😃 👍🏻 Food in the hotel was amazing also. Highly recommend the fillet. Spa was amazing. Provided with robes in the room for the week and towels in a cute little basket that you can take down into the spa with you. Outdoor pool was a really amazing touch. Hotel even provides a private shuttle bus to and from the main lifts in selva, again the info given on arrival so you know the times. The team driving guests back and fore done an amazing job. Honestly highly recommend this hotel. Would 100% stay again! Rooms are amazing, we had a suite and it was just incredible. Thank you Portillo! xxx

An absolutely fantastic family operated hotel, with real class and history. Great service all around, food was really good and location worked well. Definitely would go again. Staying in a suite with a roll-away: note the roll-away is really not suitable for people over 170 or 70kg. Primarily for youths.

The hotel is gorgeous, but made incredibly special by the wonderfully attentive staff. We booked a standard lodge room which was very spacious and had a balcony with great views of the mountains. The spa with indoor pool and outdoor (heated/jacuzzi type) pool was wonderful, particularly after daily summer hikes in the mountains. I thought a bit of a shame though, no spa treatments on offer in the summer. The walk into town was just 10 mins or 15 to venture further. The hotel provides free bus tickets that take you up and down the valley to the various towns and lifts. Very welcome. Hotel Portillo was a wonderful haven to come home to after a full day trekking or cycling in the mountains. Breakfast had everything you could ask for. Very good selection . Particular thanks to Georgia on reception who was just so lovely, helpful and welcoming every time we came in and out. You really did feel ‘at home’. But all of the staff: management, reception, bar, cleaning, breakfast were incredibly friendly, helpful & professional. We loved our stay, which was made even more special as we were celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary. We hope to return again one day.

Unbelievable service, we got engaged the day after we arrived and the hotel went the extra mile at every opportunity to make our stay the best it could have been. Unbelievable room, beautiful spa, excellent breakfast. Both the manager and the staff went out of their way to be friendly and make sure everything was perfect! Honestly the best experience of a hotel that we have ever had the pleasure of staying at 5/5 in every department, not a single negative

We stayed here for 4 nights during our trip to the dolomites The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly We stayed in one of the suite rooms and was upgraded on arrival - thank you for this!! The location is perfect to explore the mountains , just a short walk to the centre and to two main gondolas Breakfast had a lot of choice and fresh produce We enjoyed a couple of drinks in the bar and the spa wellness area is beautiful Hiking and climbing in the day and back to the hotel to relax by the pool The hotel provides a bus pass which is free so you can access near by towns or hike to other mountains too We had an amazing stay! Based on 6N stay 9 to 16 Jan 2022 a 4.5 star but we give 5 star because of Daniele's great service as one of our waiters. 1. Location is ideal. With regular hotel shuttle to ski cable cars and lifts in Val Selva Gardenia, we have easy and quick access. The public bus stop is in front of hotel. It is also an easy slow ski from the slopes. 2. We rented our ski equipment from Top Ski affiliated. Kind staff. Equipment is ok. I was even driven to the ski lift I wanted when I was too tired to attempt a red slope from Ciampioni. 3. Parking on site was easy. Open parking is complimentary and a small fee if sheltered garage. 4. Ski room is ample and heated very convenient. 5. Hotel was recently renovated. Very tasteful interior and exterior. The facilities and decor are per their website description and photos. Accurate and better. Special mention is made of indoor pool and outdoor pool and the sauna and steam bath and vitamin rooms. They even have an adults only spa area. Spacious! 6. Staff are professional. Some warm others not really. There was availability so we were kindly upgraded by Ms Giorgia to a junior suite with mountain view top floor. Thanks!!! 7. Food was excellent most times- taste quality quantity and presentation. Menu changes daily and dessert is always great. Sous chef always jovial. We did not see the chef who did not appear but understand he is from Puglia. A table of 6 British guests was very loud during meal times (all other guests' conversation was drown out as we could hear every British accented spoken word) but the owner kindly acceded to my request and moved us to a lovely corner table with a view. Thankfully the guests departed mid week. 8. We had great recommendations from the owner - Plan de Gralba which has long well groomed blue slopes plus red and black runs with easy red run access to and fro Campionoi. Restaurant Emilio Comici stop at top of smaller newer cable car Sassolungo Plan de Gralba has modern hip music and Dyson equipped restrooms! Our favourite is however the the smaller restaurant hut in the middle close to the new blue lift chair 50 m in front/below with great 90s jazzed up music for lunch and afternoon snack and friendly staff. 9. The owner's mother always kindly greeted us in the morning and evening. She pays close attention to the kitchen and service in restaurant. Areas for improvement 1. The omelette requested for breakfast had inconsistencies on a couple of morning, e.g. 16 Jan 2022 morning texture was similar to steamed egg without taste. 2. Bath robes are provided once for a week. Strangely one was removed from our room during the last evening dinner Thankfully we discovered otherwise we would be charged Euro 45 upon checkout. 3. Waiters were super friendly the first dinner and following first breakfast and thereafter the attentiveness and eagerness dissipated. With the exception of Daniele who was consistently genuine attentive helpful with humour - KUDOS.
