Grand Hotel Duchi d'Aosta

I don’t normally write reviews but our experience at this hotel was so awful I would not want anyone to have to experience what we did by booking into this hotel. Believe all the terrible reviews that are on here about the hotel. I too am usually a half glass full kinda girl and thought the hotel couldn’t possibly as bad as the reviews - it is and worse.

We came here as part of a school trip. Arrived to find the hotel had ignored the contract of no bed sharing and were less than helpful in resolving this. Next evening a group of students arrived partying all over the hotel, asking out pupils into rooms to join them. Beer pong in the corridor- vomit running down the spiral. When asking for the manager / support to look after our pupils, i was told they would send a cleaner! The hotel itself is average standard for a trip, food is acceptable but management is poor and the bookings they take is not appropriate for school groups.

Great access to the slopes, the red tower for our ski stuff being so close was very helpful. However, there were many rowdy people who went who were ignored by the staff (adults asking 14 year old girls their age and trying to steal them into elevators + making VERY inappropriate hand signals with their fingers) Also, there was lots of smoking which set off the fire alarm several times but on floor 14 we never heard it due to the alarm not working which could have been very dangerous. The lifts broke down several times in our 7 day trip which was useless when we had to go up 14 floors (10 minimum for the school group) leading to us taking the emergency stairs, which was still horrid, to get anywhere quickly. Also the elevators did not work on 14 or 12 (maybe more) the rooms were good and the cleaners were very nice and did their job well, the showers were a little weak but still useable and overall the accommodations were good.

Hello! Absolutely the worst hotel experience of my life. This place is a complete disaster from top to toes. The staff? Rude, unhelpful, and clearly couldn’t care less about their guests. The rooms? Filthy, outdated, and smelled absolutely disgusting. The entire hotel felt like it was falling apart—broken furniture, dirty bathrooms, and paper-thin walls that made it impossible to sleep. The service was a joke. Every request was met with either attitude or complete indifference. Housekeeping? Non-existent. Cleaning? Forget about it. It felt like they hadn’t cleaned the place properly in years. And let’s talk about the noise consent chaos at all hours, as if the hotel was hosting a competition for who could be the loudest and most obnoxious. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, the breakfast was inedible, and overall, this place was an absolute nightmare. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. This hotel shouldn’t even be in business. ultimately the reviews on here are false for the most part. despite having to wait a while for a room to become available it is clean and definitely more than adequate, albeit nothing amazing. having been here on a school trip, i was not expecting much and if you want a big luxurious stay, this isnt the way to go. views from most rooms are rather nice whether that mat be of the town or mountains. staff here are relatively nice, don’t interfere with much and just let you get on with your day. food is quite good, all edible and cooked well yet there are not that many options to go for, especially at breakfast. unfortunately however there is/was a glitch in the system meaning the fire alarm went off many times, with it barely being heard by us due to its quiet noise. all in all this stay is plenty good enough for a solid getaway with your school and there is no major faults to write home about.

this hotel is the worst establishment I've ever been too, the toilets in the lobby are disgusting, toilet paper and feces strewn everywhere. the rooms? falling apart my bed was missing half of its slats the tap water is disgusting, the shop downstairs is over priced and there is no selection the people here are rude and raised absolute hell the WiFi does not reach more than 5 metres out of the lobby it does not have a ski room so you have to trek to another hotel for that the food is the definition of bland the same selection of pasta and pizza ever night is nothing to write home about it stinks here if you walk past certain rooms toilets are almost always clogged the fire alarm seems to go off randomly and once 5 times In a day when we were checking in we had to wait a total of 8 hours to be accommodated with a key overall this is the worst hotel I've ever been too do not come here whatever you do
