YYi ShieanOur third consecutive stay in Japan’s onsen scene brought us to Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel & Resort. Though labelled as a 3-star hotel, this resort is the very definition of an underrated masterpiece. From the moment we arrived, it became clear this experience would rival any five-star destination we’ve ever visited.
Our room was a slice of paradise—spacious, serene, and offering a panoramic view of the breathtaking sea. Perfect for a moment of calm after a day of exploring. It was hard to tear ourselves away from the window, with its infinite horizon stretching beyond the blue waters. The bath experience was equally indulgent, with Dyson and Refa hairdryers in the public bath area. The soap and shampoo provided in the public baths? Luxurious, premium products that they also retail on-site. A small but significant touch that elevates this from your average onsen.
Where do I even begin with the buffet? It was nothing short of culinary theatre. Imagine live cooking stations serving up dishes with the flair of a fine dining restaurant. From sashimi so fresh, it redefined how I think about lean tuna—the texture was almost reminiscent of beef!—to the incredibly generous portions of salmon roe. Each dish was top-tier, but the dessert station truly took my breath away. A unique pumpkin and sweet potato creation was the surprise highlight, and I couldn’t help but indulge in multiple helpings of the organic apple, crisp and fresh like it was picked that very morning.
For fitness enthusiasts, there’s even a decent gym—a rarity for many onsen hotels. Meanwhile, the 24-hour lounge provides a range of delectable snacks, all of which are sold in their store. And though the prices may seem steep, the taste makes them worth every yen.
The free daily scoop of Peter Beier ice cream was simply divine. Made with Hokkaido milk, the vanilla was already a showstopper, but the pistachio took the experience to another level. After this, it was impossible not to purchase their chocolate truffles—pricey, but easily worth the splurge.
The experience extends outside the hotel, where an outdoor foot bath awaits with a view that will make you feel like you’ve entered another world. As long as the weather cooperates, this is an experience not to be missed.
In short, Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel & Resort might officially be a 3-star, but in our hearts, it’s a five-star experience through and through. A perfect blend of luxury, nature, and comfort, it’s an onsen resort that deserves to be on every discerning traveller’s radar.

UUtilisateur anonymeWe love the ambience and everything about the hotel! Furnishing are very carefully and intentionally designed, really appreciated the overall cozyness we felt during our stay. Sadly we had to give the bathhouse a miss due to our schedule, but we enjoyed our stay regardless.
The only confusion we had was the check in/check out timing — the hotel page says check out is 11am, but we got a phone call at 10am telling us we’ve exceeded the check out timing. Page also mentions check in by 6pm, but we were only able to arrive at 9pm+ due to our flight and car rental processes, hence we checked in multiple times with the hotel. They were kind enough to assure us to drive safely as we can check in any time.

IInvitéFantastic Onsen hotel..located on the hill top, all rooms assigned overlooking into the OKHOTSK SEA, with huge room and shower room are separated from the WC.
The hotel provide a shuttle bus from UTORO ONSEN BUS TERMINAL and will pick up guests from here.
Another good point is,there is a Airport Bus Liner which comes direct to the hotel to pick guestyfor drop off at Shiretoko Shari Bus terminal enroute to Mambabetsu Airport.
The breakfast is really yummy with lots of spread however the buffet dinner is average and the same spread for the two nites I stayed.
Where else the ONSEN, I would give a 4/5.
Another good point to note is those coming by train to Shiretoko Shari station, opposite is the Shari Bus terminal which provides transer to the UTORO ONSEN BUS TERMINAL.in about 50 mins.
Overall Shireto Daiichi Hotel is a big luxurious hotel and they provide shuttle for onwards bus transfer to the SHIRETOKO NATURE PARK which is so beautiful to wander out to seek nature's awesomeness.

IInvitéLoved it. Really comfy lounge area with floor to ceiling windows ocean view which invites you to sit down and relax. Kitchen next to it was open clean and functional. Room was basic with toilet and vanity area but again faced the ocean with floor to ceiling windows which made it special. Again onsen had the same views with sauna and cold bath. For those with no cara bit of a walk into town. Highly recommend.

Le personnel est très enthousiaste Comme il n'y a pas de chambre non-fumeur que j'ai réservée, ils ont pris l'initiative de le faire. surclassement en chambre de niveau supérieur. Il y a un personnel anglophone à la réception Le petit déjeuner est moyen Peut être amélioré, globalement bon.

WWujiwuyi因為太靠近海邊.宇登呂温泉鎮屈指可數十家酒店.上百間客房的酒店就三家.人非常多.吃飯需要排隊.就餐比較嘈雜.泡温泉也不夠安靜.辦理退房入住排隊的人也非常多.不太方便.慶幸定了有共同廚房的酒店住了六天.有超級大的公用廚房.自己採購了食材.油鹽醬洗滌用品等酒店提供.烤箱微波爐都有.每餐都可以做.面朝藍天大海的烹飪的感覺太好了.因為這裏四點半就天亮.宇登呂温泉鎮這裏餐廳基本兩點就關閉了.主要也沒有什麼餐廳.總共就七家.唯一一家居酒屋關的比較晚.還在遙遠的另一個碼頭附近.實在不能滿足我們的需求.整個鎮就一家超市買菜.五點就關門了.需要提前採購.因為之前住的沒有房間了.所以再次定了有廚房的酒店.雖然廚房不是超級超級大.也有十幾個平方.廚具可是專業的中央廚房.非常非常好用.酒店的房間有三十幾個平方.很大.一米五的雙人床.中間還有圓桌子和沙發轉椅.還有梳粧台和寫字枱.房間裏設施很全.並且非常乾淨整潔.窗外就是海灘.觀景也不錯.並不是攜程描述的平方數.酒店的接送是免費的.因為離宇登呂温泉大巴站拖行李需要走路十五分鐘.有上坡下坡.必須提前給酒店聯繫.這樣有人會來大巴站接送.酒店的所有工作人員都很熱情.並且很真誠的幫助你處理一切問題.酒店的公共設施：洗衣機乾衣機等等都很好用.並且一層有一個公共衞生間.不管你是在二層做飯和大堂看風景.都不用回到你的房間上衞生間.很方便.如果你住的三樓.你到一樓也有衞生間.每層都有太方便了.咖啡無限量免費自取.整個酒店非常乾淨.有很多温馨提示.前台也會温馨提醒你入住的所有需要的事宜.並且親自帶你去看一遍.讓你度假更加舒適.推薦入住.

HHo SumAlthough somebody may prefer higher-order accommodation, this hotel is very very great for me and my family.
Located just in front of JR Shiretoko Shari Station, it can be very convenient for me and my family to catch a train to somewhere else.
The other excellence of the hotel is that there is a convenience store just across the zebra line.
The hotel staff, from front desk receptionist to housekeepers, they all tried their best to answer my questions and make up my room.
The price of the hotel is quite reasonable. I stayed there for consecutively 8 nights, I found that the price if very very reasonable.

IInvité酋長之家是我沒訂到那天kiki的候選，卻意外再次體驗了一次當地人生活，17年去富良野那裡體驗過一次，要自己鋪床，這次倒是不用，可是我媽不喜歡，因為房間沒廁所，要去外面上以及沒有空調，洗手枱放的水是銹的，我倒是對於民宿沒那麼多講究，因為它便宜，被子厚沒空調也不冷，我訂的四人房，實在不夠再蓋一層，最大的問題是水，找前台的一個長者家，帶我去了另外一個洗手枱還是不行，我也懶得搞了，直接自動販賣機裏買了3大瓶水，夠用了。它家的餐食很有當地特色，也很好吃。雖然硬件施捨不行，但是老闆和老闆娘真的是好人，我第二天去kiki不太方便，老闆娘看我困難，開車送我上去，真的是大好人，解我燃眉之急。

IInvitéIl s'agit d'un hôtel thermal traditionnel japonais, idéal pour se ressourcer et suivre une formation en entreprise. Les installations sont propres et bien rangées, vous procurant un sentiment de sécurité. Vous trouverez également un grand bain public où vous pourrez vous détendre dans les sources chaudes. Bien qu'il y ait peu de restaurants à proximité, l'hôtel possède son propre restaurant au rez-de-chaussée. Les prix sont raisonnables et la cuisine est excellente. Je le recommande vivement à tous ceux qui visitent l'est d'Hokkaido.
