My wife and I decided to take advantage of a sunny forecast and spend a few days on LBI. We found a great deal at the Windward and were not disappointed. The room was clean and updated. The towels were plush and soft, the air conditioning worked perfectly. The staff and owner were helpful and friendly. In addition to providing beach badges, chairs and outdoor showers with shampoo, shower gel and towels, they allow their guests to use their facilities and chairs and badges until 4 PM on departure day. The property is about 100’ from the beach. Thanks for a fantastic stay! We will definitely be back.

Wonderful place. Ideal location. East walk to great restaurants in downtown beach haven. In a nice, quiet area in beach haven. David and his family are wonderful hosts. Rooms were spacious and clean. Indoor patio area also a plus. Will be back

The Windward is Lovely and very clean. The owners are very welcoming and make you feel like they’ve known you forever. Love how you can walk to the beach and the Windward has chairs and boogie boards you can borrow in case you forgot your own. The location was perfect for walking to a variety of restaurants and shops. Highly recommend giving it a go with your friends, loved ones, family or couples.

It was a cozy beach hotel! Great hospitality as well as the beautiful spacious guest room. We could also see the ocean from the room window. What a luxury! My six year-old daughter loved a lounge with kids area where she could read, draw and play games.

We had a lovely stay at the Windward. Our room was comfortable, great bed, loved the location. Enjoyed chatting on the encosed porch. Super staff. Nice touches like the coffee/tea station, the outside seating areas and the beach gear and outside showers. We didn't need the A/C but turned them on briefly and both were prett loud. That's our only negative.

it is everything as was described. That old school beach feel that we have been longing for. The check in and check out process was very easy. Comfortable bed and clean rooms. Easy beach access and many restaurants and shops close by that were walkable.

Having grown up in New Jersey I’m very familiar with vacationing on LBI. Mostly we rent a house for the week but every so often we’ll stay at a hotel/bed & breakfast. My expectations are low I realize we’re not checking into a Ritz Carlton. This hotel (The Windward) fell well below expectations. The room which was located on the 3rd floor with a very narrow and winding stair case hasn’t been updated since the Eisenhower administration. It’s tired and old, the mattress needs to be replaced and the BATHROOM is an embarrassment. I’m 5ft 11 inches 177 lbs I could barely fit in the shower!!! Let alone try to bend down in the shower. No amenities what so ever can’t even buy a bottle of water in the hotel. Maybe the other rooms are nicer, I don’t know but I couldn’t wait for our stay to be over.

The best part of staying at the Windward was the access to the beach. It was very close. It is also close to restaurants and shopping. They have a coffee bar that is very nice. Good coffee!! It was a very enjoyable stay. We would definitely stay there again.

We booked two rooms at the Windward for our family of four and were very comfortable. The staff was very attentive and took great care of us. There were lots of details that helped make everything easier, like a clothesline for hanging towels, beach equipment and toys we could borrow. We easily fed our two young children all their meals with the microwave and refrigerator set-up plus dining table and appreciated the outdoor furniture and table for drinks nearby our sleeping kiddos. The location is central to everything and there are lots of things happening at the Veterans Park directly across the street. Highly recommend booking both rooms 4 and 5 if you need two "adjoining" rooms because they share a common windowed porch which is great to store beach stuff and kid toys.
