I’d usually write fairly short reviews for places we’ve stayed as a family, but Rebali and the amazing team are well deserving of a longer review. Short summary - If you’d like to experience Morocco in a welcoming, relaxing and beautiful environment, book straight away. Longer review - we traveled here as a family during February half term. We have two teenagers, age 17 and 14. It was their first trip to Morocco. Mohammed and Fatima (and their amazing team) are the absolute cornerstone of what Rebali offers. They have entirely mastered how to provide amazing holiday service, without being overbearing. Their quiet, considerate and friendly approach perfectly matches the laid back and relaxing atmosphere of the whole place. I can’t commend the team highly enough. We stayed in one of the three bedroom villas with private pool. There’s a lot more space in the Riads than you’d imagine. The breakfasts and evening meals (if you choose to stay in to eat) are amongst the best food we’ve had in Morocco. You can have meals served in your accommodation, or at the shared outdoor dining area. The gardens and Rebali surroundings are beautiful. The three resident tortoises set the pace of life! If you want a break in the sun and a chance to kick back and do very little, Rebali is ideal. There are also plenty of choices of things to do. Mohamed can arrange everything for you. We did quad biking on the dunes (10/10), on site Hammam (10/10) and a highlight for the whole family was spending the afternoon and evening with a local Moroccan family, cooking in their home after buying ingredients in the market. Both the kids were a bit skeptical about doing that at first - and it is probably as close as you’ll get to real Moroccan life - but they both said it was the highlight of the trip. The beach is huge and the waves are amazing for surfing. It’s about a 30 minute (100 Durham) taxi ride into Essouaria. Taxis to and from Rebali can be pre-arranged and they were always at the pick up spot to bring us back I the evening. We’ve had a lovely trip. Thank you so much to Mohamed and Fatima. This is the 17th country we’ve visited as a family and they are far and away the best hosts we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Such kind and generous people. Tip 1: agree with the other reviews - shove your own tennis racket in your luggage if you want a game. Tip 2: spend more time here than you think you’ll need. It’s the antidote to the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.
