We had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience with Vasillaras Hotel. We booked 5 rooms directly with them with a free cancellation policy, but they canceled our confirmed reservations without any prior notice or consultation — just a one-sided decision, with no discussion or attempt to find a solution. They said they were afraid we might cancel at the last minute because of the war in Israel — even though skies were only temporarily closed and check-in was still 45 days away. I called and asked them to please wait one more week because the war was expected to end soon — and it did, just 5 days after they canceled. But they refused and told me I could only rebook with no free cancellation, offering worse terms than what I had originally booked. When I tried to rebook, suddenly the rooms were no longer available. It really felt like they preferred to cancel us so they could give the rooms to someone else who was trying to book at the time. Because of their decision, we lost our ferry tickets, as there were no other hotels left in Agistri. And now, at the last minute, we are still searching for another hotel with very few options left — they completely ruined our family trip. Communication was also poor and dismissive. I was told: “It’s not me, it’s my daughter — send her an email.” “I’m in the restaurant now — call after noon.” I sent my last email over a week ago asking for a solution, and they have not even bothered to reply. Be careful. They seem to care only about money — not guests, fairness, or service. They ruined our holiday
