Stayed for 2 nights June 2025 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Devonshire Fell hotel. We booked just a couple of days before our stay and could only reserve a side view room, partially overlooking the hotel car park. There were, though, very pleasant views further over the beautiful local countryside and down to the River Wharf that was only a short stroll down from the hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable with full bathroom and separate bath plus walk-in shower. Breakfasts were excellent (full English etc) and we enjoyed eating in the restaurant both evenings, where the menu had sufficient options to choose. Service from staff was good throughout, with nothing seeming to be too much trouble. We have an EV and charged our car via the hotel chargers (2 units) on just one occasion without cost. The gardens around the hotel are very well maintained and there is outside seating. We were sorry we had to leave for home, but will hopefully return at some future time.

We spent two nights here as a birthday treat after admiring the hotel many times on our visits to Burnsall. A warm welcome on arrival and an offer of help with the luggage. Our room, actually a suite, on the first floor had lovely views towards the river and the village and had everything you could need except a nozzle on the hairdryer - a small thing but why are they always missing in hotels? It's a mystery to me. We dined in the restaurant both nights - no complaints about the food and the service but we found the music not to our taste and a little too loud but the staff were obliging and turned it down when asked. Breakfasts were perfectly cooked and plenty of choice. Our overall impression of the hotel was good, the staff, particularly Sam and Luke were pleasant and helpful and I feel sure we will visit again.

We meet family who were staying at the Fell for dinner. The hotel was immaculate and beautifully decorated. The food was delicious and the choice adequate . The service by all the staff was excellent and they were all very attentive. The location of the hotel is superb with super views of the lovely village of Burnsall and the river Wharfe.

Everything about our stay was just wonderful. Excellent hotel with equally wonderful staff who quietly and efficiently ensured our time was most enjoyable and relaxing. Food was AMAZING. Breakfast and Evening Meals were so good, very delicious. Huge thank you to the Chef and his team, FABULOUS.

Everything about this stunning hotel is perfect. The location and views are awesome. We were staying for 2 nights on a Travelzoo deal. what a fantastic offer it was!!! Our room was so comfortable with a beautiful view. tastefully decorated with lots of little extras. Dinner was included on our first night. We were in the conservatory which looked down towards the village and the fells beyond. all the staff at The Fell were so friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to meet every one of them. A very mouthwatering choice of meals. Absolutely top class cuisine, beautifully presented. the food was so good we decided to eat at the hotel on our second night and again were not disappointed. Breakfasts were the usual high standard with lots of choice. We will certainly be revisiting the Fell and beautiful Burnsall village. We wish all the staff at the Fell every success for the future.

On checking in, was informed that there was no lift and we were on the top floor I am 80 yrs old with mobility difficulties. There was no mention of this when booking on line. Was told they were fully booked and no other room available. The room was so cold. The radiator needed bleeding. It was slightly warm at the bottom and cold at the top. A five minute job to fix. Was told someone would sort it, but it never happened. Asked for a heater but apparently another guest requested one but it didn’t work so nothing was available! Ended up sleeping in the bath robe to keep warm. On a positive note - the food was good. Disappointing experience.

We have been several times before and loved the full experience, not this time. Some of the staff were ok but felt it was very sloppy service. The meal was not served up in the room we used to eat in we ate in a room which was like a conference room. We don’t like eating in the same room as dogs, we used to have one but would never take it into the dining room. There was also a curtain hanging from the railings, scruffy! We had to ask for more milk yesterday morning for our cereals and today they didn’t bring any. There was a choice of 3 cereals but had ran out of one of them today. As someone else commented it was margarine not butter, awful. We thought that the meal was not up to standard especially the salmon starter it was very thin and slimy. On a positive note my husbands steak was excellent,

This is a handsome hotel in a glorious situation. Comfortable, high spec bedrooms & bathrooms all with lovely views. However, on this occasion the meals were not up to previous standards. Margarine has replaced butter at both breakfast & dinner service & cafetière coffee was weak & watery. Meal prices have increased sharply, with a deterioration in quality. Sadly, therefore I do not expect to return to The Devonshire Fell.

What a stunning location. We enjoyed two nights here and the value for money on our Travelzoo Offer was outstanding. Our room (no 4 Cracoe) provided a wonderful view of the River Wharfe and the surrounding fells. It was warm and very comfortable. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful and the evening meal was of a very high standard. Breakfast was very good too (eggs benedict - yum!) and served to the table. I personally like to choose my own cereal, fruit etc from a buffet, but that's just my preference. There are no lifts (as expected) so as we are older now, we were grateful with the help to carry our cases upstairs. My gold standard is always "Would I go back?" Yes please. As soon as possible! Thank you.
