The Good: Jair (our amazing bartender at Salum); the jungle; the wildlife; the pools; the grounds; the security; the bed; the gym; friendly staff; good location not too far from Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Akumal, and Tulum. The Not So Good: With beachfront location, not a single room with an ocean view. With so many restaurants from which to choose, only 1 place open for breakfast and 1 place open for lunch; and 1 location open for dinner; limited menu choices at dinner. Cold items at breakfast buffet. Staff on campus lacked knowledge as to what was open; juice bar at gym was closed; less than courtesy cashier at market; pressure to attend a sales presentation which required a $20 hold table fee (we declined to attend); inaccurate signs on jungle paths; Disney World vibe with having to use trams to get to front lobby (we walked most places); pushy/rude vendors on the one night they were present to sell local items; they need fans to circulate air on hot nights at the Salum restaurant area as it was stifling.
